Hotel Description

The Hotel

"La quintana del Caleyo" is an assembly palace of the Asturian countryside architecture, XVII and XVIII centuries, which is inventoried in the Asturian cultural patrimony. The assembly is composed by a large house/palace, a Saint Laurence chapel under the dedication of "Nuestra Sra. del Caleyo", a large "panera" (elevated granary) built in 1730, a smaller "panera", a small house(casa de esfollones), a hayloft, an old and typical Asturian dovecote and some splendid and welcoming "antoxanas"(entrance courtyard), all of it surrounded by 3’5 hectares of country state with meadows and forests of chestnut trees.

The assembly has been restored with care, keeping all of its structure, configuration, beams, walls and a great part of the two centuries parquet floor, using for the restoration noble materials of the region: chestnut tree wood, stone, lime and asturian furniture, becoming it into a countryside hotel for the enjoyment of the people.

"La Quintana del Caleyo" is situated in Camuño, typical small village of the Asturian countryside carefully kept by their people, which belongs to the council of Salas and to the "Comarca Vaqueira" association.

The Hotel counts with 11 double rooms: 7 double rooms, 1 double room of individual use and 3 big double rooms, all of them with heating, bathroom, T.V., strongbox, hair-dryer and views. We also have two living rooms with capacity for 30 people, bar, café, parking and garden.

Environment

In "La Quintana del Caleyo" you decide what to do: you can do absolutely nothing, sit and enjoy the landscape of meadows and woodlands drinking a "Sidra" to refresh yourself; If you prefer you can go for a walk, peaceful walks through the country state or the near woodlands. You can also go to Camuño (2 km), or extend it and go to Villazón and come back through Lorís, Figares, Santullano and Linares, between streams and woodlands. This is a longer walk but is worthwhile

In "La Quintana del Caleyo" you will be very near of the interest points of Asturias, which is the paradise of trekking and hiking, long and short routes, soft or hard, mountain routes, valley routes, between woodlands, by meadows, between rivers, streams, by cliffs, all of spectacular beauty and relax.

When you prefer the sea, in only 25 minutes you have the coast: San Esteban de Pravia, La Arena, Cudillero, where you can enjoy their beaches or their sea environment.

You can also go to visit the Natural Parks, near we have Muniellos, Somiedo and Fuentes del Narcea.

If you like fishing, you have found you ideal place, only 10 minutes of the most important salmon deep pools of Narcea river.
