Alcaufar Vell is situated within one of the most beautiful and tranquil natural reserves in south-east Minorca, surrounded by lovely beaches with clear waters and fine sand, it also has a leafy, wooded ravine, an ancient watchtower looking out over the Mediterranean, a kilometre of virgin coastline, and almost 250 acres of land for long walks. It dates back to the 14th century, and the various extensions carried out by owners over the centuries have converted it into a Stately Home in the neo-classical line. It is managed by Jaume and his mother Maria Ángeles (who inherited the property), so it has an enjoyable friendly and family atmosphere with the comfort and independence of guests given maximum priority. A place to savour silence, peace, and tranquillity. At Alcaufar Vell you can take a stroll at sunset amongst pines, oaks, and wild olive trees. Taste our home-made honey and spicy "sobrasada" sausage. Take a trip to an unspoilt cove and have a picnic prepared in our house. Cycle down the historic "Camí de Cavalls" (Horse Trail) to visit the old Spanish coastal defence tower. Take a splash in the pool or relax in the hydromassage tub. Have a drink outside the "Racó del Poeta" (Poet's Corner) bar or read a good book while birds sing away in the background. Rooms are big and spacious, thought to enjoy them and of its light. All rooms have air conditioning and heating, with hydromassage bath, Tv, safety box, pipped music, minibar, bathrobe, hair dryer, etc... Days in Alcaufar Vell start with our delicious breakfast, where you can delight typical products of the island, where products made or grown in the cottage have a special presence: fruits, cold meat, honey, infusions...Take a trip to an unspoilt cove and have a picnic prepared in our house. This service is ideal to accompany your excursions. Any time of the day you could enjoy of our bar service at "Racó del Poeta" (Poet's Corner), where having a drink, coffee or a soft drink it tastes glory. At time for dinner, you could taste our menus of typical products, which dishes prepared in the old way will transport you to the Menorcan cuisine of past times. If you prefer to travel around the island, we will recommend you the most excellent places and restaurants. The swimming pool of the hotel, 80 sq.m, is located to very few metres from the house, surrounded by native vegetation and by menorcan wall (stone wall).
