We were very impressed buy the hotel website and had very high hopes for the hotel. But I have to say that we were disappointed. The rooms are too small, and view from the balcony is too narrow. Because the monkeys are always hanging outside the balcony, it is impossible to use the balcony even during the day. The bedding is nice and clean, but the towels are a bit too old. The food in the restaruant has more choices than many other Sri Lanka hotels, although the Chinese food in the buffet tend to be overcooked and too salty.
Although it might not be the most comfortable or luxurious hotel to stay, architectually, it is impressive. The design and sense of arrival is very impressive. You really can't see the whole hotel from anywhere. It is very much hidden, and its wings hug the rocky mountain like a few belts. It really blends in with the environment. It is a must visit for architects.
