The hotel was obviously once of a very high quality and has been let go to seed a little over the years. Nonetheless its first class location and elegant charm go a long way, and the property comes highly recommended for groups and individual travellers on a budget who value character and style.
Obviously once a very grand building, the hotel is now showing its age rather. The building is, like many of the hotels in Engelberg, in traditional Swiss/British style, with ornate plasterwork and large sash windows.
