I booked a triple room. After adding the third bed which is almost the same size as the other two, there is still sufficient space to move around in the room. The interior design of the hotel, including the lobby, room, corridors and executive garden is very tastefully done. It is a good hotel to stay in if you want to have a quiet and relaxed getaway, and feel pampered. There is a rooftop running track and gym, but no swimming pool. The hotel is about 15 minutes away from the night markets and the hangout places in the vicinity.

"Riviera Hotel is wonderful hotel to stay..."
Riviera Hotel is wonderful hotel to stay in. The staff on the whole are very friendly except one or two staff. They speak fairly good English, so that's a bonus for travellers who do not
speak much Mandarin. The room is spacious and clean and the breakfast spread is pretty good. I've only two complaints about the hotel - firstly it's 3 streets away from the nearest Metro so that can be a bother especially if one has bought lots of things. Secondly there's only 2 English channels and with the exception of HBO, the other English channel doesn't have interesting shows most of the times. Fortunately for me though, I am bilingual so at least I can also watch some of the Chinese channels, if not, it can be pretty boring when you're in the hotel room. Overall, however, my stay there has been quite a pleasant one.

It was a bit hard to find at first, but we really loved it. The price was great, the staff were really friendly, the room was big enough for 3 people. It was very clean, the hallways were clean. I really enjoyed my stay here.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel from the 15th to 21st January 2007. The receptionist, concierge, restaurant and cleaning service staff all spoke good English which we found immensely helpful. Receptionists were also
very pleasant, friendly and most helpful in giving advice on places to visit and local transportation system. Amenities were certainly more than adequate. The hotel is very clean and quiet and is located within 10 minutes walk to the YuanShan MRT station. There is also a night market nearby and many restaurants within close proximity where affordable food can be had. We also appreciated the use of a free internet service at the lobby while having our complimentary coffee and cookies for breakfast. The buffet breakfast (and service)is for your personal account but were excellent. We are also grateful for the extended check-out time the hotel granted us as our flight leaving Taipei was at midnight. Because the hotel did not cater to tour groups (one of the reasons we chose this hotel), our stay was very relaxed and enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Taipei.
