"Fantastic"
This hotel is in a great location, close to the MRT, close to night markets and restaurants. A fabulous part of town that has both the old and the new. The staff are fantastic, very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The rooms are clean and comfortable with all the expected amenities of a hotel of this standard. There is a bar that has a happy hour every night and the bar staff remember what drink you like which is great and makes you feel extremely spoilt! We really can't fault it .... a really nice place to stay in exciting Taipei! We would definitely stay there again.

Good Hotel but Far from Station
Overall Imperial Hotel is value for money in terms of its room and service. Stayed in the Superior Double room. It was spacious and the room was clean and comfortable. Though there is not much of a view from the room. Only con is that it is quite a distance from the nearest MRT station, Zhongshan Elementary Station, as such it is not convenient for travellers with big luggages or travelling with kids. Also this station is not on any of the main lines thus it can be troublesome to keep changing trains to get to other parts of the city.

Nice Hotel
Hotel receptionists are very helpful. They speak English. I booked a deluxe room but was upgraded to a mini suit and was also given free wired broadband usage. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. Hotel is only 5-10 min walk to MRT station. Local market and eateries are all within walking distance. Short cab ride to Shilin Night Market.

My family was pleasantly surprised that the Hotel upgraded our rooms. The service standard was excellent. The in-house facilities were comprehensive. Both the Japanese restaurant and Sonoma Grill served nice food. During the height of the typhoon crises, the hotel staff, especially the receptionist and concierge, remained cool, calm and professional throughout. They were up to date with the weather information and on the status of the flight departures.

:: Comfortable room and good service. :: Free wireless internet in rooms and in lobby, and bar. :: Bathroom not sized for a western 6feet, 220pound guy. :: Clean and friendly staff. good english :: Location is abit off (depends on what you want) 15-20 mins walk to subway. Mostly small bars around with "massage" and "bargirls". Recommmend however the "Malibu West" just a cross from the back side of the hotel. Nice staff and great Philly steak Sandwich.

It was a 2-night stay in Taipei. The overall service was good and the room (standard) was clean and comfortable, although a little small (with just a tiny window on a side wall). The superior room, according to a friend, was better. Polite staff and efficient service. Not much to see in the neighborhood at night, though. Good overall for medium-priced hotels (I'm talking about the non-peak season rate.)

The Imperial Hotel is great place to stay in Taipei. The hotel upgraded us for free to club level rooms with comp access to the club level lounge. The staff were very helpful and courteous. Everyone from the housekeeping staff to the front desk and conceriege were friendly and very helpful. This was our family's first visit to Taipei and thanks to the Imperial it was a success. Thanks.

Mr Sam at customer care helped us all the way. He was very prompt in sending the confirmation letter to our travel agent for arranging of visas. Also after checking out, one of the members felt unwell but he was very kind to arrange for our stay for few hrs in their special lounge till we had to leave for airport.

Overall is good, even through the hotel itself is a little bit old. However, the service and manner of the hotel staff is excellent. The only thing that I felt not so good is the hotel location, it is quite far away from the MRT.
