I am surprised that nobody even tried to talk about how good the location is. It has the Aisa's best ramen restaruent on the right, one of the best HK restaruents on the left, the biggest 24hrs bookstore in Taipei is just around the corner, 3 departmental stores are within 15 minutes walk, a IT mall just 2 minutes away if you take the back lane, an entertainment plaza right across the road takes care of your sleepless night, the subway station is just right below, hundreds of taxis passing by the street infront of the hotel, and the street is buzzling with activities at anytime of the day. The staff at the San Want are friendly and efficient, speak good english, housekeeping service is fast. The room is spacious, with clean and nice looking bathroom, 43" LCD TV and a hi-fi set i don't know what else you are looking for in a hotel but this one suits me just fine. Just one last thing, if you think the price is a tad too expensive, browse again. In Taipei, hotels are generally expensive, so you got to look at things in perspective.
