Hotel staff was very nice and spoke English well. I found Julia and Samantha to be the most helpful and very nice. Cuisine in The Lounge was very good but pricey compared to local restaurants.
I stayed for 20 days for about $3500 USD total including service fee. For an extra $30 USD per day, I got buffet and internet access.
Floor 7 smelled a bit funny like the kitchen was venting into it or something. Not so great.
Room was small, but good for one person, two people could be a bit cramped. No smoking in the hotel, but I think that is a state law there.
Location couldnt be beat. Taiwan Main Station was just about a minute walk away. The ShenDao subway station was 100ft from the front door. Shinkong Mitsukoshi mall, Nova mall, 228 Park, and Xi Men shopping district were all so close you could walk. There is also a post office right outside the door of the hotel for shipping souvenirs home.
Hotel had pool, but it was closed :(. Hotel also has a gym and a sauna. Morning buffet had a big selection, but was a little expensive at $15 and closed at 10am. Laundry was very expensive so you might want to find an alternative to having the hotel do your laundry.
Convenient subway access to Beitou, Xi Men, Shi Lin Night Market, BaoAn Temple and Confucius Temple, Sun Yat Sen Monument and Taipei 101, LongShan Temple and walking access to 228 Park and Chiang Kai Shek Memorial hall. Beitou is great for those who like hiking, mountains, or hot springs. Yangmingshan Park is also there.
Recommend Perfect Hair Salon behind Nova and Nova Computer mall for shopping. Taipei Main Station also has an underground mall which is very cool.
ShanDao Temple is almost right across the street from the hotel, pharmacy right down the street, and two 7-11's right around the corner.
