The hotel was great, just a little...
The hotel was great, just a little off. You take a little ferry to get into town which was ok. The room was good and clean and had a nice bathroom. The breakfast was excellent and they had very helpful staff. Their English wasn't the best but they did try.
The location is excellent being close to...
The location is excellent being close to the railway station and the river where a ferry to town can be taken cheaply. Tuk tuks are usually on the street at the entrance and this is a convenient way to get around. The hotel was clean and the staff are helpful. The rooms afford a lovely view overlooking the river. The breakfast supplied is one of the better ones we experienced in Thailand.

The hotel was nice, actually better than what I expected. The hotel's facade has been totally renovated not long time ago, but the rooms remain a litlle bit old fashioned and in some sort ugly (maybe there are renovated rooms that can be requested).I did not like the fitted carpet, althoug it was clean, it was too old... The bathroom is not bad; clean and with good water temperature and pressure.
The breakfast buffet, that is included, was better than the one provided by other hotels I have been in Thailand.
The location of the hotel is convinient, beside the river it is 5 minutes tuk-tuk to the ruins and 1 minute to the train station. If you want to go to the ruins by foot the promenade is a little bit longer.

Been to a number of hotels in Thailand: Bangkok, Pattaya and Hua Hin. Sad to say I never really encounter the experience of "Land of a thousand smiles", until I checked into Krungsri River. That is where the 'thousand smiles' had gone to. Excellent service, extremely charming, friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are comfortable, nice view of the Chao Praya river. Good breakfast catering to both Westerners and Asians. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Krungsi 5 days in December 2006.
They offer a good choice of breakfast buffet catering both to European and Asian taste; also, location close to the train station and thus to the local transport is favourable for those who want to look around a bit, and there are some local shops and restaurants as well.
Be prepared that the language skills of the staff are more limited than in more touristic places...
The beverage prices in the hotel seem exaggerated (140 bath for a small beer in the restaurant!)
If you fancy using the pool before 2 p.m., do not forget to bring your own beach towel (gym providing towels) opens at that time only).

Nice hotel. Great location as it's close to the train station and on the river. Very friendly staff. The rooms need a facelift as they look 1970s. Given the options in Ayuthaya, I think this hotel must be toward the top of the list.
Very poor service, felt like I was...
Very poor service, felt like I was lied to on many occasions, and I am not a novice in Thailand, have been travelling through Thailand for four months now. On 3 separate occasions I sat in the restaurant for nearly 15-20 minutes not being served whilst Thai customers who walked in after me were served immediately, this is not typical of Thai nature so was very displeased, I also asked when I first got there, how much they would charge me cash to stat longer and they quoted over double the internet service, would not recommend their service to ANYONE! VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

Excellent value for money and a great location. This is really a top class hotel right on the river. The buffet breakfast was great.
We didn't get time to use the bowling alley or swimming pool, but it is nice to know they are there.

The food is nice and cheap, more variety of breakfast. The hotel is near to the train station, hence convenient to those travel by train.
We were surprised how good this hotel...
We were surprised how good this hotel was for the money. Right on the river and with easy access to the city sights and close to the train station. Room was a good size,reasonable decor and great views over the river to the city. We also enjoyed using their ten pin bowling alley. An improvement to breakfast could be made if they had real sausages instead of Frankfurters.
