Great hospitality of Ayutthaya

Being a solo lady (Asian) traveler is not something to be ignored here at Moradokthai Guesthouse. I was greeted by a pick up at the railway station although it was already dark. The moment I set foot on the place I immediately made friends to fellow backpackers - thanks to the host for breaking the ice on behalf of me. I was given a spacious room despite being single. There is no choice for breakfast, but toast, eggs, fruits and coffee is more than enough at the price I paid. Location wise, it is within walking distance to many tourist attractions and the tuk tuk is familiar with the place as well. There are also several tourist services available on location, so I believe it would be a good start for anyone who has not been in Ayutthaya. In front of the guesthouse is a traditional Thai massage place and a restaurant, where you can unwind after a day of activities. I had nothing but great experience, for first time backpacking experience - it's worth every cents spent. I made new friends and would highly recommend this place for new backpacker, especially Asians.

Great for backpackers

This place is unique. Rooms are very cheap but shabby and some worse than others. Cold showers and toilets not great. But bedding clean. Brilliant location right near the night markets and one of the larger temple complexes. You can hire bicycles for 60bht a day and ride around all the ruins. One hint don't take the tuk tuk tour around the temples as you will be heavily stung on price.
Everynight at the morodok is like a family gathering, sometimes they put on a BBQ other times everyone goes back after dinner for drinks and to chat. We made some great friends and a great place for travelers to meet others and would imagine you would feel safe their on your own too.
Overall a great place for a couple of nights stop to see the ruins and temples!

Perfect location, very close to old city....

Perfect location, very close to old city. Very nice and heplfull people running this guesthouse, good brekfast, family atmosphere. I recommend this place very much.
