Horrible
I spent one night in this hotel, the pool was closed and the Internet didn't work. In the middle of the night my air con burned out filling the room with smoke and setting the fire alarms off in the entire building at 4am. Everyone evacuated. They changed my room but I did not sleep easy that's for sure! I wouldn't stay there again

Same faults as December
I stop here as it is cheep and easy to get to on BTS.
The breakfast is the worst buffet breakfast with less and less choice everytime you visit.
Get a discount for no breakfast and go to the 7/11 and get some milk and cerial and a ham cheese toasty for about 50 baht or by a breakfast somewhere else.
There are tea coffee making facilities in the room but you do not get any free tea or coffee so fetch tea coffee with you.
The rooms are clean but grubby. The Aircon in most rooms is not very good.
Forget the swimming pool. you would not want to wash your socks in it.

It is what it is.....
Upon arrival....everyone in the counter was very helpful...and very kind warm smile...I love it!
1. Customer service in front desk spoke little english....but thats ok. I booked a room via online and they understood booking procedure.
2. Elevators works and neat
3. Room is totally outdated;.....it definitely needs remodelling....the bed is ok..nothing fancy....interior is totally old and feels very cheap....just like checking in a less than 1 star hotel....but serves the purpose of a simple travelling person looking for a cheap accommodation...it is what it is...
4. Telephones does not work, Security lock box is not working, I asked the staff to fix it...but totally ignored my request, instead they offered me their safety lock box in the front office desk.
5. Shower is basic...hot and cold water is good, toilet does not flush properly
6. They do replenish shower stuff/amenities right away....a plus for me
7. Restaurant is OK....it fills my stomach....though the coffee and tea is horrible...they could at least offer instant coffee....I mean how expensive can that be.?
8. AC is ok....though the AC unit is very noisy and will not go any colder... and I think is will soon die...but overall ok....just ok...just make sure you dont open the window...or you will be in heat!!

Pleasant Stay in Royal Asia Lodge
The hotel is a small one almost at the end of SOI 8, a little bit walk from the main road. However, the hotel Tuk Tuk is very convenient. The Tuk Tuk driver is very active, polite and always available.
The reception is quite efficient. The old lady there is very helpful, but the young man on duty during night time was at all not cooperative. The TV remoute in my room was not working, but could not get it repaired/replaced by this young man. In the afternoon of next day the old lady replaced it.
The breakfast in the hotel is basic. A little bit improvement is recommended. The young man in the restaurant is ever smiling and very polite.
My stay in Royal Asia was enjoyable, and I will surely look forward to stay there again.

Not a nice Experience
I have travelled most of Asia and stayed in more Hotels than I care to remember, but this hotel was probably my worst experience so far, the hotel is so dated, the air-con was so loud I could hardly sleep, part of the hotel rooms roof had rotted away and water was dripping onto floor, smelt bad too.
on arrival I was given my Key card for the room, I went up to the 9th floor and the Keycard, after about 4 times going back to Reception and trying to fix the card they decided to change the room so I got another Keycard for a room on the 3rd floor.
Staff were certainly not friendly, never saw a smile out of anyone there, even after cracking a joke or two to cheer them up!
On the website they claim to have a pool on the roof, there is a pool, Very dirty water, I certainly would not be getting in that! and Jacuzzi is totally broken, the whole rooftop area is just dirty, I went up to have a look and said no ways!
I wont be going back, there are far better places in Bangkok for the same price or better.

Checking at 4.30 pm took 20 minutes and I was the only guest at reception. The TV required tuning and the room safe was locked on my arrival. The hotel is at the "wrong" end of the street and the hotel offers a shuttle Tuk Tuk to Sukhumvit Road, but getting back would only go as far as an associated hotel about 75% of the way. The breakfast at 8.45am was minimal (no cereal , no bacon) and all the food was cold. The elevator to and from the dining room was faulty and service was intermittent. I would never stay this hotel again.

The room was old and musty. Bathroom was filthy with mildew. Towels were old and grey.
Breakfast was a joke. Both mornings there was nothing available and had to continually ask staff for everything from bread to cutlery not to mention all the hot dishes. Didn't even bother with it on 3rd day! Getting taxi to drop you back there was always a problem although it's central enough. It's pretty cheap but I won't stay there again.
