The stay in Samran Place was perfect...
The stay in Samran Place was perfect for me and my boyfriend. We were searching high and low for a budget hotel to stay during our holiday in Thailand. I was reading the past hotel guest's reviews about Samran Place, and i feel that the reviews are mostly positive so we thought we may try on this. On the day we reach the hotel, the room is more spacious than we expected(as we stay in the superior room), both the room and bathroom are clean. We will definately go back to Samran Place for our next trip :)

Samran Place Hotel offers a convenient location to many of the bustling shopping malls as well as tourist attraction sites, in Bangkok and is only a 10-minute walk from the Ratchathevi Sky Train Station. The room that I stayed was very clean, tidy and above all, very confortable. Breakfast is served ala-carte style, with choices of western and local fare. After dusk, Petchburi Road in front of the hotel becomes a fascinating sidewalk dining centre, where food stalls lined up on either side of the street. For those who have a knack for Thai food, it's an invitation to gluttony because the food here is terrific and affordable. Overall, I'll give Samran Place Hotel a thumbs up.

This was my 2nd time staying here. I choose to stay here cos the price was a good deal, location was good ( just 10mins walk to Siam Discovery center). Although you may have some problem telling the taxi drivers where is the hotel ( even with the hotel name card) you can roughly tell them to go the Asia hotel ( which is 5mins away) and direct them from there.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast was not fantastic but it's free. Other than the free breakfast, i have not dine @ the hotel cafe. Staff are friendly.

We stayed at Samran for 4 nights.. Overall it's not bad but I think there's room for improvement.. We asked for extra pillows as there's only one for each person but was told it will be charged. The breakfast was excellent. =) The toilet was a disappointment as the tap is leaking. Probably will not stay there again.
I was not happy with their service....
I was not happy with their service. Very unfriendly staff. Moreover got room # 306 where bathroom cieling leaked and when I told management they hardly cared. Overall unsatisfied with service.

Great value for money. The skytrain is a 10 minute walk away which can be tiring in the summer heat! Getting a taxi can also be hard but this is definitely the quiter end of the street.

Me and wife enjoy our one week holidays in Bangkok.
The hotel is not very big but it is nice. It is in a convenient position. You could walk to Shopping Centre. Taxi to shopping centre is around A$2.00 or ypu could you Sky rail (Its station is just 200m from the hotel). The breakfast is good and you can have reason good foods in hotel cafe. The staffs are helpful and there is tour service in the hotel.

I stayed there for 4 nights, and I must say I was pretty amazed at what I got.
Along the road to the hotel, things were quite run-down and I was especially disappointed when the cab turned into the carpark.
However I was greeted by a friendly bellboy. Even the cab driver and security guard was polite and friendly!
The hotel is small, but clean and neat.
Though a bit run down on the outside, the room that I was allocated was not bad. No foul smell, no dirty bedsheets. But the can drinks in the mini-bar were pretty dirty (the rim of the cans).
Toilet is clean, cupboard is clean.
However TV is small and the remote control's batteries seem to be dying. The cable channels were not working on one night and I was almost bored to death. The technician cant speak english. Anyway, got by the night, trying to figure out what were the thai dramas abt.
The service is great! Very friendly and polite staff. English is not a big problem for them, esp the counter staff. Lobby and restaurant are combined, so it was pretty small and packed.
Highly recommended for budget travellers and couples!

I stayed in superior for 4 nights...
I stayed in superior for 4 nights with my wife. Room is clean and big, same size as Singapore hotel costing USD 120++. Birthroom also clean. Room service is satisfactory. Facilities lack of hair dryer, toothpaste & brush. Breakfast can be chosen from 4-5 kinds. Location is good, 5 minutes walk to BST station. Road side food shops just outside hotel. Very easy to hire a taxi, right infront of hotel. Sometimes, tuk tuk waiting just outside. It costs me USD33 per night. Good value.
