My wife and I stayed in this...
My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights from 11 to 16 of Jun. The overall experience is quite pleasant and it would have been better if the cleanliness of the hotel is better. Probably the management should consider disinfecting the room to remove the stale smell that gushes out from the room when the door is opened. An automatic airfreshener should do the trick. On top of that, I was really quite disgusted to see armies of ants crawling out from the cabinets and drawers. They were literally sharing the glass of coke that I placed on the table top that goes with my sticky mango rice. So be careful and never leave your food unattended in the room.
As for the location, it was really a bonus to everyone who places shopping at the top priority. Out from the lobby, turn right and walk all the way straight will bring you to Platinum Mall(10mins). If you want to go MBK, turn right again from the main exit and walk till you see the train station and turn right at the cross junction. Walk about 8 to 10 mins and you'll see MBK. For those who don't fancy walking, Tuk tuks are readily available outside the hotel. To take cab, you may wish to consider crossing over an overhead bridge on the left side of the hotel where a 24hrs convenient store is situated right beside it.
The lobby is quite a turn off. Not only it is small, there is no proper queuing area for checking in/out. It takes a guest to ask another to get into the proper queue order. Just in front of the reception lies a tiny restaurant with a maximum 30 person capacity where you get your free daily breakfast. It offers you a glass of juice and unlimited flow of coffee and tea. From the menu, there are about 8 types of breakfast course to choose. Not too big the portion but it definitely goes into your stomach well to last you through the walking journey from the hotel to your prefer shopping mall nearby.
A plus point of the hotel is that they do provide free wireless internet with your own laptop. Just get the access code from the reception and viola! You're connected!
Well, I would probably come back and stay again in future but would also keep my options open to other hotels if the prices are competitive.
