Samran Place is located within 5 minutes of Ratchathewi BTS station, which is one stop away from the shopping central areas. It is about 15 to 20 minutes walk to Platinum shopping mall, and the Pratunam district. There are about 3 massage parlours located between the BTS station and the hotel, but the only one I'd recommend is the Golden Hand Thai Massage. Location wise, it's great.
Only thing is, there are still protests (peaceful so far, but with Thailand's track record, you never know when things are going to blow up again), and Ratchathewi is one of the areas they protest in. While I was there, I passed by a truck in which were some Red Shirts. It was all quite peaceful, but you might just want to take note of this.
The staff were very helpful and friendly, eager to serve. The place was clean, and good value for the price that we paid. One more great thing was that most taxi drivers/motocycle taxis know the place, so it's not a problem getting back to the hotel.
The food's not fantastic, there's a small variety, and breakfast has about 8 items on the menu. They serve a mixture of Thai (or simply Asian - fried rice, noodles and so on) and Intercontinental breakfast items, but neither is really very well done. Still, it was edible.
Overall, I'd recommend this place.
