Just 2 nights in Bangkok
I had a very short stop over in Bangkok and needed just the basics i.e. clean, a comfortable bed, strong shower, very easy to get to, a fair price and somewhere quiet.
Well City Lodge gave most of these in a fairly good fashion except the last thing. It was far from quiet as you are next door to the brand new shopping mall Terminal 21, this means there is a whistle blowing policeman outside all day up to about 10pm. At 12pm they dug a hole in the road with Jack hammers. Not all the hotels fault but all the rooms face the front.
What it can control, it does to a fair enough standard considering the price, the access is fantastic as its right next to the Skytrain (Asock Station) and the main road has so much going on. Overall a fair hotel

Excellent hotel location
Excellent location with malls, night markets, restaurants, and bars within walking distance. Train astation is only 3 minutes away. Hotel rate is reasonble and the staff are friendly.

The hotel is small with limited facilities but was well located with both skytrain and train only 5 mins walk. The room was very nice. The included breakfast was toast, croissants, juice and coffee/tea and was just okay.

For some reason they could not remember to replace the coffee and creamer in my room everyday, I had to go down to reception and ask for them every time. Good Location right next to the Asoke BTS Overhead Train Station where you can buy a re-chargeable smartcard to use on the train, also next to the Sukhumvit MRT subway. Take the subway for 15 bhat to the Makassan SRT Train station where you can get a train to the airport for 35 bhat. Take the BTS train from Asoke to the river and get a ferry to Chinatown, The Grand Palace and other sites.

Pretty nice experience
Although the elevator should be improved, the other things are quite nice. Excellent location in Bangkok!! Just near BTS and MRT station.

Excellent deal
City Lodge soi 19 represents an excellent hotel within the lower to medium price range. The rooms are quite pleasant and facilities work well. Its main advantage is location, very much in the centre of the tourist area and adjacent to Skytrain and the subway. A reasonably priced, quite well appointed and convenient hotel. I would certainly stay there again.

We received a warm and friendly welcome. Rooms were fairly tidy with linen changed daily. One thing we noticed was the lack of information about the facilities available at the hotel. The accommodation was very basic and we chose it simply for its location which was right next to the BTS at ASOK.

City Lodge Sukhumvit is located just a hop-n-skip from the Asoke BTS station and a little walk to the Sukhumvit MRT. It's conveniently located next to shopping center and closer to the Makasan Station which is the train to the airport. All in all, it was a good stay and good value for the money. The hotel hallway is a little dingy and the view is not that great. However, they try to spuce up the room. The room has all the amenities you need (hot water, hot pot, refrigerator, hairdryer, etc.).
