Disappointment across the board
I chose Ambassador based upon nice pictures on the website, which while they looked a bit gaudy, nice enough. On arrival, we were told about an upgrade available. We said we would like to view the room, having chosen it based upon price, and the fact that we were only staying for 2 nights so didn't need anything amazing. The room (in the original wing) was absolutely foul. Marks on walls everywhere, the window barely opened with quite a struggle, beds (they didn't have rooms with only 1 bed available) were like sitting on springy cardboard. It was awful. We immediately inquired about the upgrade. At this point, it would cost the same amount we paid in another hotel to have a 1 bedroom suite with a balcony that was extremely clean about 15 min walk away. Having no choice but to lose a night's pay, we accepted the upgraded room in the Tower Wing. While the room was adequate, the difference between the two hotels was incredible. Food was mediocre at best, and I was greeted/smiled at by employees only occasionally. Pool is in need of a complete cleaning, as our skin was left filmy and sticky after a quick dip. Also being approached about buying clothes Every time we passed one of the numerous shops in the arcade area (why inside the hotel, I ask), was not relaxing, in my opinion, especially after coming in off the streets of Bangkok. I will definitely not be returning.
