Bangkok trip
The hotel need to be refreshed. The reception staff are polite and cooperative. We got a room at the last room of the floor which we need to walk a long way to reach the lift. The furniture is old and the room is clean but there are ants inside of the room. The housekeeper gave us only one toothbrush for a couple and after complaint, she gave us two toothbrushes. The hotel place s convenient to take sky trains to reach all shopping centers like Siam center, Paragon, Central World and Ma Noun Khong center. The breakfast is ok but monotone for everyday. This may be improved.
Good location
This was our second stay here at this hotel, as the location is excellent for transport links - its right next to the Sky Train, and also a short drive to Hualamphong Station.
The room was very clean and well- equipped, and the free upgrade we were given was a very nice touch.
Breakfast was good, although crowded, but it is a large hotel, so its to be expected.
If I have one criticism it has to be the internet charge, which is expensive at 200 baht for 20 mins. In 3 months of travel in the last year in Thailand, we have had free wifi in even the cheapest of accommodations, so maybe its time for Asia Hotel to re- think this charge.

Best Convenience
From the Airport to the hotel, it is so convenient. After a hard day shopping, just take BTS or the MRT lines to escape the overcorwded jams on the road. Will choose Asia Hotel when i am back in Bangkok.
Value for money & excellent location
We love the location of the hotel and its connected walkway to the BTS Ratchathewi station which made it so easy to move around in the city area. It is also just one station away from Phaya Thai station where you could transfer to the airport rail link and make your way to the airport. The BTS fare from Ratchathewi station to Phaya Thai station is 15 baht, and from Phaya Thai station to the airport is 45 baht i.e. total fare is 60 baht / approx. SGD 2.50!!! Imagine the savings from not having to take a cab. The train journey took just over half an hour.
The hotel is just a 10-min walk from Siam Square shopping district and MBK mall.
The buffet breakfast spread was great too with a wide selection of western and local thai fare. Coffee was lame and disappointing so be prepared to have your caffeine shot at the nearest Starbucks.
If you don't mind a hotel that's a little old, Asia Hotel is a steal and we would definitely book a room here again on our next visit to Bangkok :)

excellent value
This is the second time we have stayed there and were pleased to find the standard was still very high.Direct access to BTS & new airport Rail Link is great. Thank you we will stay again,

The rooms are much bigger than before...
The rooms are much bigger than before (I was here sometime in March 09) and the corridor's brighter as well! Imagine having a bathtub and another standing shower and a walk-in wardrobe! (=
Buffet Breakfast is still as good as ever!

Overall is a nice stay although we noticed that the room have ants (not many though).
Being near to the BTS is an advantage and it's near to all the major shopping location such as MBK, Siam, Platinum etc (which is like 10 - 15 min by BTS or taxi).
Had a nice view which I managed to catch 2 nights of fireworks from my room.
Am pleased with the information staff who gave us advise of where to avoid due to the protest and suggested other places instead.

Staff and service is correct and polite, very professional. However there is only one thing I am confused about, the aircons. Can only regulate the fanspeed but not the temperature. I have always experienced the nights very cold in your rooms. There was a major renovation in the hotel incl new electric system so maybe you can get aircons that can be regulated from the room. Before was an old system on the wall that looked broke. Now there was a modern digital "thermometer" because it could not be changed. It only showed room temperature.
I also get the feeling I get new towels everyday from the cleaning lady even if I hang it on the rail so I can use it again. You have a campaigne to save the enviroment and asking the guests to put the towels on the floor if you want a new towel. However the staff does not seem to be aware of that and put new towels every day anyway :o)))
Location in comparison with rates is a very good choise for me and I also appreciate that is located at a sky train station.

Even if I have stayed only few times in the past three years, it came as a surprise that one of the door men remembered me, said I have been many times before and asked about my hotel in Phuket! I was stunned! I did have a small hotel a couple of years back! Thanks again!
