great location central to all the shopping...
great location central to all the shopping and the street food stalls very near to pratunam and central world shopping malls this hotel is a gem in the middle of bangkok city centre would recomend this hotel,staff very attentive and always helpful the hotel food is of very high standard,buffet breakfast could be improved otherwise a very freindly hotel and yes coffee and tea facilities in room would be very nice well done to front desk staff you are the hotels best pride

Unhelpfull, unfriendly. Check-out time must be at noon or before. every hour will be charge 400 Baht. No internet connection. No adapter for electricity. the electrical source is not common form. You need an adapter. The bell boy force you to use taxi outside. Taxi driver does not want to use meter. The price offered double or three times than using meter.
Shopping centre is near like BIG C...
Shopping centre is near like BIG C ZEN Erawan shrine ( can go pray everyday during your stay 20Bht for basic stuff). Good road side foods at the back of hotel. Cross over the bridge oso got good food too. On the left when u exit the entrance got gd thai massage. On the right got gd exchange rate Behind too got 2 more shops to choose from.
Surprise to have dinner provided for Deluxe room. Not buffet but choose a meal. Is cheap.
No safe box no water kettle provide. or else the rest is ok. Basic. just to sleep. =)

Good location. staff are friendly and speaks English. Someeven speaks chinese... a very cosy place to live in. room size adequate.. not too big till it seems so scary. bathroom may a bit small. However, room service is great. need internet?? outside hotel, there is a shop offering internet service. mine is deluxe package. lunch and dinner provided. very worth the money..

The location is perfect for shoppers. Staffs are friendly and breakfast is good as compared to many other hotels. Simple, decent and warm. Will strongly recommand to families, budget travellers and travellers on shopping trip. Thanks asiarooms.

Eventhough fittings and furnishings are somewhat shabby there is a typical polite and smiling service all around a clock. The location in heart of Bangkok compared with the roomprices is unbeatable. Highly recommendable accommodation. City Inn has been for years number one on my reservation list in Bangkok and will be if anything else as practical and valuable will not appear.

we booked a deluxe room with triple bed. the room was bit small, but for one night we could survive. Free dinner was a welcome surprise. Like everyone says the location is absolutely perfect for shopping. will stay again. value for money if the stay is only for a short period.

Me and my 70 yr old Mum spent 2 nights here in June 2008 after 1 month travelling through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.Cannot fault the hotel in any area.Lovely staff,great buffet breakfast and very clean rooms and bathrooms.Only downfall no English TV channels.
Perfect position for shopping,everything is close by 5-10 minute walk fron the hotel.Pantip Plaza, Pratanum Markets, Mega Big C,World Trade Centre, Platinum Shopping Complex and a miriad of sidewalk markets.Right next to the 'river taxi'.The best Hawker food and restaurants amass surrounding. Definately coming back to this perfectly positioned hotel.

Before i booked this hotel, i read many comments about Bangkok City Inn. Apparently, many people are afraid of the dark alleys along the hotel. Nevertheless, there are many shops and vendors around the hotel and it is open even in the night! Hence, the liveliness and the good central location has definitely made Bkk City Inn a safe place to stay!
Other than their safety, Bkk City Inn is situated in a very good location where Platinum Mall, Pratunam Market, Indra Square, Murray Plaza, Central World Shopping Centre and Big C Supercentre are within walking distance! These shopping malls have very good buys and this has further made our stay more worthwhile!
The staff in the hotel is fantastic as well. Bell boys are good in their english and the receptionist are very helpful people. The lady who works in the evening for room service is good as well. very humble despite me and my friend's picky-ness! haha!
The room is big for the two of us as well.. However, something not very pleasant is the old corridor and red carpet. We believed the corridor is not air-conditioned and there are no ventilation hence, it's a bit stuffy! especially our room is a bit of walking distance from the lift! bathroom is okay... but i don't like it when there are some stench coming out in the middle of the night and you can hear people from the other room flushing the toilet! it is rather eerie in the night.. but overall, still okay.
There are very good food near the hotel, such as Hang Jim Peng, a fried dough pastry that can be purchased along with kaya toast. and also Wanton Mee which many reviews have mentioned as well.. and Chicken Rice! however, the portion is relatively small. perhaps that's why thai people are so thin.
The breakfast is also the same throughout our stay (1 week) but since the hotel we pay is of this price, it's is worth for money.
In conclusion, if you want nice food, good location, i will highly recommend this hotel!
