I stayed here 4 nights in July...
I stayed here 4 nights in July 2008 with a couple of female friends and we had a fabulous time. We were a little anxious about the location given it was a little out of the downtown area, but the proximity to the Ratchadapisek subway station was fantastic, about 5-10 minutes easy walk, and then about 20 minutes on the very clean, modern and efficient subway to downtown where you can easily connect to Skytrain lines. It is true that there didn't seem to be much in the area in the way of restaurants or shopping, but this was not a problem for us as we'd head into the city early in the morning and spend all day keeping busy, have dinner and then head back to the hotel in the evening. We were extremely happy with this hotel, great value for money, clean and comfortable.
