Between going completely "budget" and not going overboard on spending - the quality, amenities and service for the STANDARD DELUXE at the Chaophrya is well worth the extra BHAT... The main issues is that with all the food bargains in Asia/Thailand - I was hard pressed to pay 399 and 499 for the meals. The hotel is quite nice and would stay again - very airport close - and MRT is a 4 minute walk... Enjoy the stay...

I've now stayed at C.P. two times (26 nights total) since late 2005. The hotel is clean and comfortable. It has a very polite, helpful staff. The fitness center and pool are first rate. The food is fair and overpriced. I've found this to be the rule rather than the exception with BKK hotels, but this poses no problem as their are limitless dining options in this city (many nearby. There's a Food Mart (7-11 style mini store) right in the parking lot (40 baht beers vs. 130 baht in the hotel) so drinks and snacks are convenient. Ratch. road is notorious for its traffic jams, so it's best to use the subway if possible. The nearest station is a very short walk and if it's raining you're only faced with a 35 baht, two minute taxi ride. The airport is short drive away and the route is normally free of traffic. I'll be back again in May for another 14 nights.

After receiving the confirmation, I'd sent two modification requests to request for twin beds but when I checked in, the front desk could not find the requests. Sleeping on a king-sized bed with another guy can be stressful !

My wife and I have stayed here...
My wife and I have stayed here twice now and on both occassions we were very happy with our stay. The underground train service is a easy walk away and if weather is not suitable, then there's still plenty of taxi's and Tuk Tuks to get you there. We use this hotel for when we are in Bangkok for a short stay as it is easy to get into the city centre and also to the airport. Your room is value for money, I have stayed at heaps of other hotels in Bangkok over the last few years and the room and service you get here has been better than some of the 5 star hotels. The short falls, location for those people who like the night life and to party, I would say the hotel is properly not realy suited but for families who are happy to use the train system to get into the central areas for shopping and so on then I would recomment the hotel 100%. Breakfast is not always consistent, you will always find something nice to eat including the young ones who have not aquired that away from home taste, but sometimes what was nice the day before is not as nice the next day. But as I said you will find something else nice too eat. The service you will recieve and also see will be worthy of a 4 1/2 star rating.

I stayed at the Chaophya Park hotel...
I stayed at the Chaophya Park hotel for ten days. Good services and new renovated rooms are nice. Breakfast is excellent, especially for Asian/Thai. Good location and closed to MRT station (Ratchadapisak Station) which linked to other major attraction spots Golf driving range within the hotel area is also a good atraction. Overall, it is a good hotel and worth of your money. Only one complaint is the phone charge (10 Baht for the first 3 min and 10 Baht for every min after, that is, 580 Baht (approx US$ 14.50) per hour). This is more expensive than the room rate. To show good intention, the telephone charge should be displayed explicitly (e.g. on the desk top) instead of printing on a piece of paper in the binder (this paper was missing in my room). I might return to this hotel again for my next trip but will not make any phone calls from hotel.

Staff at reception is not a smart guy. I gave him my name and booking number but he insisted of no booking at all. I found the manager and he could find it easily from the computer.
Moreover, I said that I will pay cash when I check out. That guy said OK but still charge my credit card. I need to ask the manager for refund.
