We had stayed previously at the Dusit...
We had stayed previously at the Dusit Thani and were very impressed. This time the room was a lot smaller, and the bathroom was in desperate need of renovation. There was mould and broken tiles in the shower. Not really very pleasent. Generally not to bad an experience but we will look to stay elsewhere on our next stay in Bangkok.

Check in and out were quick and efficient. We were allowed to check in at 9.00. It was most appreciated as we arrived at 7.00 from Europe. We were in the old wing.Nonetheless the room was large and clean and tidy. The decor was a little old but had the Thai theme and still very functional.King size bed and quiet,no noise from the Bangkok traffic. The staff were polite friendly and very helpful. The thai restaurant was very good. Location was ideal, being near the skytrain and the underground. Night market, Patpong, is just down the road. We will definitely stay here in future.

We very much enjoyed our stay in your hotel. The service was perfect. Your staff even helped us with suggestions of things to do or see outside your hotel. We felt very at home because some of the staff knew us after a few days. The only thing I missed in the bathroom was a place to dry my bathingsuit after a swim in your pool.

1. The overall atmosphere in the hotel met my expection, ok. 2. We stayed in room #936 and the floor in shower room was badly levelled and it trapped water. 3. Service in all levels are excellent.

As usual we found the hotel excellent in very way. Where else is the room kept in perfect order all and every day? We do not like the typical flashy 5* hotels but prefer something with rather more style. We certainly hope to be back.

Most reviews seem to ignore the Dusit...
Most reviews seem to ignore the Dusit Thani in favour of hotels such as the Shangri-La or Mandarin Oriental, but I would certainly advise if you want classic Thai-style 5 star luxury in a more convenient location than any of the hotels on the river this is the place for you. The service was efficient and extremely hospitable - my husband and I, and the friend we were travelling with all got upgraded. The rooms were beautiful, ours was overlooking Lumphini Park and the swimming pool and the bathroom was superb. They even turn the bed down a night and leave you an orchid...and the oil burner in the bathroom (as well as the TV piped in there) was a lovely touch. Breakfast was excellent, and the dining room is very grand, looking out onto a fountain. The spa is also a must for a massage - and try to complimentary tea (cold tea comes with a hot towel and vice versa). The gym has very state-of-the-art cardio machines in particular. The pool is a little on the small side - for training you really have to do laps not lengths, but it's secluded and generally not too crowded. It is also extremely convenient - right next door to the skytrain AND underground station, and you get the Silom street market every night except Monday, and are in walking distance of the infamous Patpong (I would advise you stick to Silom Street for bargains though - at Patpong they give such a high starting price you just don't know how to bargain down!!) Lumphini Park is also great for jogging in the mornings - there is a track marked out running 2.54km or a shorter "half-way" one. In the park you'll also see lots of people doing aerobics, tai-chi and there are even a few outdoor gyms... and if you don't fancy the hotel breakfast (although I can't imagine why not) there is a morning food market too. The Lumphini Park Night Bazaar is also excellent - very well laid out covered shops with an interesting dinner/puppet theatre in the centre. We all agreed that we would definately stay there again - and having driven to the river hotels, I would honestly say the convenience alone would convince me to stay at the Dusit Thani...and that's even without the luxury you are guaranteed to enjoy.

Stayed 3 nights. Room was spacious and very comfortable; breakfast was very good. Pool was good. WE just had a standard room (called deluxe)so we didn't have much of a view - just buildings. It was OK but we would havfe preferred to overlook the park. Dusit Thani location is excellent, with skytrain close-by. It's on the line that goes directly to the river and only 2-3 stops from Siam Square. It's a great way to get around central Bangkok in a short time. Dusit is also close to the night bazaar at the end of the park (35 bht taxi fare). Very good bazaar - much better than Patpong. Skytrain gets you to many shopping centres easily. Shops are close by to Dusit, including 7 elevens; good coffee and other general stoares.

Excellent location. Generally good service. I was very pleased to be upgraded to a junior suite. : ) Service at the swimming pool was sloppy. No one came to remove the towels (on the chairs) used by guests who have left the pool. I couldn't get any water/drinks by the pool. Exterior of hotel looks old.
