Overall, my 8days with First Hotel was...
Overall, my 8days with First Hotel was great. But as usual, breakfast menu should be more appealing. My only regret is the toilet. The tap keep dripping even thou we have already turn it very tight. Improvement should be done for the toilet.

The biggest issue we faced at this...
The biggest issue we faced at this hotel was having to move 3 times in 4 nights. Initially they placed us in a room with two single beds even though we contacted the hotel prior to arrival to confirm one bed. The next room they placed us in had a very strong mould smell that was unbearable. When we approached the front desk about it the other two rooms next to us were also complaining. The next room was good until we realised the toilet was broken and we were relocated again. For a budget traveller who is used to one star hotels this hotel is good as good location. For others I suggest the First House hotel down the road. We went there the following week and it was cheaper, cleaner and more central.

overall my stay here was gd...location perfect!...
overall my stay here was gd...location perfect! lots of stuffs to buy at the road side seller...near to bts skytrain...near to mbk, siam ctr etc...da food excellent! muslim food was nice..service wise...not bad...as i've been travelling to bkk for many times...most of the time this is where i stay as its cheap and convenient. will stay here again when i visit bkk again!

Good location. Very near to Pratunam...
Good location. Very near to Pratunam market and walking distance to skytrain. Hotel staff were friendly. Though their English are poor, they tried their best to help you. But the hotel, be it the rooms or lobby, looks rather old. Lighting were not suficient along the corridor. Hot water from the shower were not constant. Overall a pleasant stay still. Recommand for those who were not fussy about room decoration and facilities.

The standard has dropped tremendously since Feb....
The standard has dropped tremendously since Feb. 2005. The carpet in the room is very dirty so they should change them & in the meantime provide house slippers. The breakfast quality has also dropped. The only saving grace is their great location in the heart of Pratunam area & their front-line staff who are quite helpful.

Only realised that First Hotel have New...
Only realised that First Hotel have New Wing and Main Wing. Definitely New Wing looks newer. We stayed at Main Wing, the first impression was the location was good, accessable easily. Though not recommended for family with old aged people or kids cos got to walk down a distance to reach Pratunam Complex and Central World Plaza. Opp of it is the IT mall, Pantip and Platinum Complex. For those who can walk/shop, this budget hotel is a good catch. Room wise - nothing to complaint about. Overall cleaniless was ok. Size of room just nice for twin sharing. If really want to pick on it - maybe the furnitures/bed/mattress were abit old. Only disappointments are the fluency of English spoken of the staffs. They cant speak much English, hence not easy to convey with them. And even though we indicated we want connecting rooms, we were not given either. Request for it again upon check-in and was replied a firm 'no'. Last note - beware of taxi & tuk-tuk waiting outside hotel lobby. They tends to pre-charge and not go by metre. Just ignore and flag for a cab directly on the road.

Overall the room and location are fine but unfortunately something just bother us. we have 4 couples staying in individual rooms, we found out one of the room have bugs on the bed itself. The staffs are rude and the service are poor. We insist of having a double bed for our rooms upon booking, upon arrival we were getting 2 single bed instead. We requested to change our rooms to double bed, but there were fully booked on the 1st day of our arrival. They promised to change it the next day, but when we asked the following day, their response to us were fully booked again. Ended up we all give up asking for the 3rd nite n just stick to the single bed. We were fed up at that time. The house keeping service were damn slow, we keep on asking and waiting for those things that we requested.

I stayed in this lousy hotel from 1 Feb to 5 Feb'07. I bet the hotel has hired all those very bad service attitude staff which no other hotels had rejected. Their front desk staff very terribly rude. Shouted at me over the phone when I called them in my room. I had booked two rooms for four nights and had requested to check out one of the rooms late due to the napping time of my baby. They only allowed till 2pm. When I called them again on the last day, to ask them for just one hour more extension as my baby was still sleeping, they rudely shouted at me "NO"!!!! I explained to them my situation and ask them to reconsider for the sake of the baby, they were so inflexible. I asked to speak to the manager but was not put through. I was so frustrated over their shouting at me, ended up I shouted back and insist for one more hour, and then only they agreed. So I guess hotel guests have to shout like them to request for anything. Breakfast was so lousy that we skipped for the last two meals. Their housekeeping staff, only that you give tips they they are super duper helpful and friendly to you. But the most untolerable thing about the hotel is the service standard of their staff which made my whole stay so unpleasant. I would neither stay there again nor recommend to my friends.

Staff very friendly and efficent food very good. Hotel is 3min walk from the sky train and central to most things you want to see.
