the hotel is excellent for location if you are here on business .room and food quality are good .always stay in the tower wing as the old wing is smely and damp .as for the front desk reception..after checking out I had to come back from an hours drive because the receptionist did not take my money .for the stay even after reminding her that I wanted a receipt ,her words were no as you have booked by an agent asianrooms....and checked out acordingly .....only to be asked to come back by the taxi driver that was taking me to pattaya.....I say get rid of that girl sooner than later ......
Another Great Stay
This was my second stay at first hotel in several weeks [this time with my Thai partner] and as usual the service and hospitality we experienced was excellent. This hotels location is great for myriad shopping experiences [300m to pantip Center], bus and cab transport and also very close to the Skytrain station. We will certainly stay again in the future.
The location is quite good as it is near the airport citylink and Ratchathewi BTs station. It is also within walking distance to Platinum Fashion Mall and Pratunam Market. MBK and Central are also within the vicinity. Despite the good location, the hotel is quite old. It is very obvious in the room carpet and bathroom. The room is also dark as it doesn't have adequate lighting. Our booking included buffet breakfast, which wasn't bad. There are a lot of Indians and Muslims staying at the hotel, as there is an Indian restaurant in the hotel and right outside.
I would suggest the barth room facilities...
I would suggest the barth room facilities to be increased to the standed leval,i have noticed the barth towels are very dirty and smelly and in the room no facilities for hang any cloths so if you concider of the above matter you mey gain in business.

I stayed in the standard room, and...
I stayed in the standard room, and it was clean and comfortable. However, the bathroom fixtures were old, and not installed with any skill. The carpets were well worn, as was the furniture. The TV reception was poor. That being said, the breakfast is very good. The location is excellent for shopping (Pratunam) and getting places....there are western food places close by, (Burger King, The Pizza Company, McDonalds) if you aren't into Thai food. Beware of the taxi drivers who camp outside this hotel. They don't want to use the meters (in other words they want to overcharge you), they will try to take you 'shopping' to some store that they have an agreement with, and generally rip you off. They refused to take me to the airport for example. They also block the entrance from real taxis. I have considered complaining to the Hotel. Aside from this minor annoyance, it wasn't a bad place to stay, but certainly not a luxury hotel.
