just stayed at this hotel in Jan 2008. Overall good value, recommended for budget travellers, as facilities/service/size of room are fairly ok, located near some wholesale markets. However, a little further from the mrt than i had tot(abt ten min), and not along the main street(gotta walk into a side street and past abt 500m before reaching the hotel, which is smaller than i tot) so may not be as safe if returning late. The interesting thing is that on most nights, there'll be a big screen at the other side of road directly opposite the hotel entrance with the locals gathered to watch movie screenings - plus point is that it's not as quiet and dangerous at night, negative point is that it's noisy at night, if u sleep before 12. TV reception not good for star movies, but has HBO. TV size is small for the normal rooms. Also, not all the levels, though most levels, are lift landing. The breakfast range is small, and not much change from day to day, good for vegetarians in the sense that they have one vegetarian fried rice dish daily at least. Lastly, the taxi service just outside the hotel seems to be linked to the hotel, and provides trips to various attractions with fixed prices stated on their boards, but i dunno if it'll cost less if one is to walk out to the main road to get a cab. Overall ok stay, good value, but will prob stay nearer to the mrt next time.
