I have justed stayed in the Landmark...
I have justed stayed in the Landmark Hotel and would definitely go back. The location next to the Skytrain station means that it is very accessible with the main shopping malls only 1/2 stops away. My room was spacious with all necessary facilities complete with walk-in shower plus bath. The gym is fabulous with an enormous choice of equipment and classes. Breakfast buffet was pretty good and the staff were excellent, always smiling and aiming to please. We didn't eat at the hotel's restaurants in the evening but they were not as expensive as one would have imagined in a luxurious hotel such as this. Definitely one to recommend.

The non refurbished rooms are poor value...
The non refurbished rooms are poor value when compared to other hotels. However, the staff are exceptional and up there with the best hotels. Good cocktail lounge with jazz trio and good location, huntsman pub overpriced, good breakfast.

An excellent hotel ideally situated near the...
An excellent hotel ideally situated near the overhead railway station. Rooms well furnished, beds excellent. Everything well maintained and serviced. Check-in staff worthy of a 5 star hotel, efficient, friendly and helpful. Restaurants of better quality than most hotels, again well trained and friendly staff. Food in all restaurants of excellent quality, a special mention for their Thai food restaurant. It is my favourite hotel in Bangkok.

Well I've stayed in this hotel for...
Well I've stayed in this hotel for three times over the past few months. Excellent service, and the staff is so friendly they will wim medals from me. BUT I have to give one staff (sorry I didn't know his name) top marks for honesty. You see my boss, at the end of his trip (first time to Asia) dropped his wallet while alighting from a car on the last night. The bell hop picked it up. And a few minutes later, when he saw me looking for it, gave it back to me! Wow! I will always come back to this hotel. I am due for another trip, unfortunately this time they are fully booked! So I will strongly recommend this hotel. Watch the taxi drivers to go to the airport. They tend to rip you off! Ciao!

I have stayed at the Landmark Hotel...
I have stayed at the Landmark Hotel quite a few times, I enjoy going to this hotel as the rooms are excellent and the staff are all very nice friendly people I have also introduced a lot of my friends to the Landmark. I travel to Bangkok a few times through the year on vacation and would not stay anywhere else.

Very attentive staff, classy bussiness type hotel,...
Very attentive staff, classy bussiness type hotel, rooms were nice though not that big. Hot tub is cold and kept that way for some reason. Included breakfast buffet is very good w/above average number of choices.

As you move up the price range...
As you move up the price range in this area of Bangkok, the price disparity with the West reduces gradually. Therefore a hotel costing $100 plus per night must be pretty special when you can find an excellent place for less than half that. The Landmark is pretty special; an imposing and impressive building situated right in the heart of Sukhumvit. Although not as good or as expensive as the nearby and newer JW Marriott or Sheraton Grand, diminishing returns in value mean that you should have little need to spend more than this. "The Huntsman" bar in the basement is an excellent source of good live music and fine if overpriced food. The Sunday lunchtime buffet is fantastic quality and value if you can put up with the grumpy ex pats. The Sky bar way up in the clouds is recommended for a drink only as the menu is limited. The swimming pool is too small for such a quality establishment but the sun deck can be quite charming. I've never bothered too much about hotel star ranking since getting your trousers pressed by Japanese speaking staff at 04.00 is of little use to me. I'd say this is probably four and a half. There are too many staff to count or tip and I'd recommend it. Oh yes, if you're keen on sampling the Sukhumvit nightlife you'll have no problem here.

The real good thing is the staff...
The real good thing is the staff at this hotel. they are excellent. great health club too. room not so great as one would expect. they're ok but maintenance shabby in some respects. wonderful buffet breakfast. very handy location next to BTS. very handy for the tollway too. Comparitively grubby (but safe) street outside with some sad sights. this is after all the middle of tourist bangkok. good filipino band in the pub downstairs but they're getting a bit tired now. if your looking for a british pub in bangkok you'll find the Huntsman pub downstairs to your liking.
