This hotel is convieniently located near Skytrain and Subway terminal. Lots of restaurants, food stalls and stores are nearby. So if you accustomed to use skytrain and subway, it is good value hotels near Sukhumvit areas. In the hotel, there is a Korean Restaurant situated, and we can choose Korean breakfast including other breakfast choices. Hotel pool is good enough but not so romantic. I think this hotel is good for the budget minded business travellers.

Normally stay at Ambassador Hotel when in Bangkok, Manhattan just does not compare. I had all my meals at the Manhattan and for the first time ever whilst on holiday in Thailand i had a bout of diarrhoea. Wonderful view of building site from bedroom! Staff friendly and spoke English well. Sorry cannot recommend Manhattan.

We stayed at the Manhattan at the...
We stayed at the Manhattan at the beginning and the end of our holiday. Our first stay was 11th - 16th December, 2007. This was the better room of the two. It was large, situated at the front of the hotel and on the 4th floor. Our second stay was on the 2nd and 3rd January, 2008, on our return to the U.K. There was some confusion about our booking; the reception could not decide if we should have a De-Luxe or Superior Room and we were allocated a room on the 8th floor at the back of the hotel. Although the furnishings were more up to date, it was a much smaller room and the view was very poor (the room was dark and looked out onto a half finished building - presumably another hotel). In this room, there was no hairdryer and when I used my own all the lights went out! The response from reception was excellent with an electrician there in a matter of minutes. He advised that the hairdryer had overloaded the circuit and if I wanted to use the dryer, we should only keep one light on! However, overall, this was a very good hotel. The location was excellent - near the Skytrain and the Metro. The service was excellent, as was the choice of breakfast. It was excellent to have a swimming pool to use after a day's sightseeing! Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel, but would advise that you specify a room at the front of the hotel and make sure it has a hairdryer!

This hotel was friendly and helpfull in every way. This hotel is convenient to the transport and all facilities. All the staff went out of their way to be helpfull. Although this is an old hotel, they are doing their best to upgrade. We would always stay there when we visit Bangkok next time. Leonard Chisholm.

U get what U pay, a normal budget room with amenities. Room is a bit dark. They had Star TV and HBO previously but is no longer available... so only Thai TV is left for those of us who are TV couch. Breakfast is also no longer the as niceas before. I guess for those who do not know the old MAnhattan, it's OK.... but for me, it's a disappoint this time cos the price had gone up 20-25% but the other things had not improve. Service is however as good as before... and very near to BTS. Will still recommend this hotel to my friends

Overall an average stay, requested for non smoking room but not available on e 1st night. We were given a room which was quite bad (even found a used condom wrapper under e bed!!). Finally changed to non smoking room from 2nd night onwards, which is alot more better than e previous room. Breakfast no variety, we practically eat e same stuff every day (6days). But Friendly n Helpful staff. Good location.

I FOUND THE SERVICE VERY GOOD, EXCEPT FOR 1 NIGHT I WENT TO DINNER LATE. THE STAFF WERE STANDING AROUND YAWNING, PART OF THE ORDER WAS WRONG, & SOME OF THE COOKED FOOD CAME OUT COLD. APART FROM THAT 1 MEAL THOUGH, I WOULD RECOMMEND THE HOTEL GOOD TO STAY AT.

I have stayed at the Manhattan several times over the last few years and never had a bad experience. It has a perfect location between two Skytrain stations and near a subway stop. The breakfast was very good with a great selection of foods from different areas of the world. There are many restaurants and shops within one or two blocks. In my trip this month, I stayed in a remodeled room on one of the higher floors. I didn't hear any noise from the work going on next to the hotel because I was facing the street.
