Overall the experience of the stay was good in terms of pricing, room, and location etc. The hotel was manaaged reasonably well.
We were offer a corner room for a triple sharing, in the superior room for 1 night and the dulexe room for 3 nights. Both rooms were adequately good having from the price paid for, and were spacious enough for the 3 of us.
It also had international channels like HBO, Star Movies, and ESPN. Taxi fare to and from the new and popular Paragon shopping center to this hotel is only about S$2!!!
In the superior room, water kettle is not provided and the television remote control was faulty. When we called the housekeeping to ask for a water kettle and to fix the remote control, they were quite quick in responding to our request. We were informed that the water kettle will be provided only in the dulexe rooms but the staff was kind to bring us a flask of boiled water. They could not fix the remote but we did without it.
After we return from Hua Hin, we returned to Hotel Manhatten. We checked into the dulexe room, the room size and toilet are very much bigger. Here, we encountered different problems, the toilet was bigger but the lightings were insufficient; the shower area did not have any lightings.
The greatest disapointment about our stay was that the connection to the international channels was inconsistent everyday. However we did not expect much from a 3 star hotel and for the price we paid.
I think the greatest asset Hotel Manhattan has is their ever helping and friendly staff, without them the hotel would just be another cheap budget hotel. Safety was good, guest could leave their hotel keys at the reception if they fear of losing it. I was surprised that the staff took the initiative to remember the guest and even which rooms they stayed.
In short this hotel is good and I would certainly reccomend that you try it.
