The hotel seems pretty new and has a nice ambience over-all but our stay there was marred by some problems that spoiled an otherwise relaxing vacation. First, there were some renovations beside our first room and the smell of paint was terrible. We complained and they did move us to another room but this time a corner one which is overlooking a busy bridge on one side and the river on another. The noise of ferries and vehicles woke us up very early in the morning! Third, my husband left his phone charger in our first room so he called the front desk for them to check if it's there. It took him 3 more follow-up calls equally with no result! We were forced to approach the concierge at which point the charger magically appeared in about 2 minutes. The breakfast spread outside the market cafe seems a bit risky especially with the yougurts and similar cold stuff which were just placed on bowls with ice underneath. My husband had diarrhea after our first breakfast in the hotel and we suspect the culprit is probably the spoiled yougurt he ate. He did bring this to the attention of the front desk manager but the lady was very defensive and just challenged my husband to write a complaint letter. Over-all, the service in this supposedly 5-star establishment is way below par if we compare to other hotels we have stayed in around Asia like the Sofitel in Hanoi and the Le Meridien in Siem Reap to name a few. The only saving grace I would say is the efficient ferry service from the hotel to the skytrain station and vice-versa.
