The hotel is situated opposite the night market in Patong Road. On arrival you are greeted by a wonderful man called Mr. Rat Sak. I would highly recommend this hotel for all types of travellers whether they be tourist or on business.

I had a great stay in the hotel. The staff there is very helpful especially the front desk personnel which help me to locate where the shop location to buy my gift. I would strongly recommend any of the traveler to stay in this hotel

From the moment one is greeted at the door by doorman RATSAC to the checkin etc there is never a hassle, nothing is too much trouble for the staff be they in the restaurant at the counter or the room staff.
We have stayed at the Montien on some 15 or more occasions and are suprised that some staff ,who have been there many years, remember us from our previous visits.
Having stayed at hundreds of different hotels around the world, The Montien, for us, is the best for comfort and service, our home away from home.

First the good things: This hotel is one of the best located in Bangkok...as long as you don't mind strolling through the heart of Patpong to get to the skytrain! It's big, clean and comfortable, with a lovely lobby and friendly professional staff. The breakfast is awesome...the best I have experienced in a non-five-star hotel.
Here's the bad: First, the swimming pool was closed for renovations, which they didn't tell us before booking. But they did organise the use a pool of a nearby hotel just fine. Second, plenty of Japanese use this hotel which means our floor was heavily infused with cigarette smoke! Third, when my wife and I came home from a late-night party, the doorguard stopped us at the elevator and said my wife was a prostitute and would therefore have to pay a fee to stay! I naturally kicked up hell and management apologised, but the damage was done!

Best thing about this hotel is the location. Close to night market, sky train, and pretty much everything you need. Noticed many business travelers staying there and everyone I spoke with say it's the location that draws them to stay there.
Hotel offer good service and the staff are friendly. The hotel does have a moldy smell to it and you can tell the building is getting old and need an upgrade. Not the best value for the money but great location.

I was at this hotel from February 15 through 22, 2007. Someone from the hotel came to room and gave me a small platter of fruit as a welcome gift. I put it on the desk and started to eat it. A cockroach came from behind desk to share fruit with me. I killed it. When I went to the bed to rest, there was a roach on the bed.I was in shock. I was tired so laid on bed to rest but fell asleep. When I got up at 0300 hours I went to bathroom and turned on lights. Two more roaches in sink. I drowned them. I went back to bed; pulling back covers. There was a 3" line of fescies on sheet. I then also noted same on the bench seat. The next morning, I notified front desk. When I returned to room, woman responsible for cleaning room apologized and became the hotels good will ambassador for the rest of my stay. A little later, the supervisor responsible for housekeeping came to room to apologize, gave me a small vase with flowers and advised he would have all rooms in vicinity exterminated. When I went to bed at night, I now always left the bathroom light on. During the night prior to my leaving, I forgot to leave light on. When I opened the light in middle of night, here come the cockroaches children from between the mirror frame and back splash; I could not catch them; they got away. I advised front desk again while checking out. I personally believe that this hotel is infested with vermin.I will never stay at this hotel again.

Great job.
We enjoyed our stay and everything at the hotel.
