Bangkok stopover accomodation
We have been at the montien Hotel already 12 years ago and we decided to choose this hotel again when we planned our trip to Bangkok in March 2012.We were not disappointed and the quality of the hotel has not changed.We can recommend it to all visitors to Bangkok who wish to be close to all points of interest.The only thing we missed: Tea making facility in the room
Never Again
On check in I found the bathtub plug would not work, the mini bar fridge was warm and there was no ashtray in a smoking room.
The first fault took 1 day to rectify the remaining 2 faults required 2 days.
The mini bar and breakfast prices are ridiculous, baht 190 for a small can of Heineken, compared to Baht 40 at the nearby 7/11 and Baht 600 for breakfast when a good one can be bought for Baht 180 approx. 100 metres away.
On check out my bill was increased by Baht 1000 above the asiarooms guaranteed price for a 3 night stay and I was asked to pay for a pair of slippers apparently not in the room. I refused to pay and the room rate was reduced to the agreed rate and they finally accepted that I had not stolen their slippers.Not a pleasant experience even without 2 of the 3 lifts breaking down

A 5-star hotel, previously
I stayed at this hotel shortly after the worst flooding scenario was averted. Since I received a
considerable discount, I cannot complain about the price. I got the "money's worth."
The structure and the materials to make the structure are solid, a reminicient of a "previously-5-star" hotel. The staff members are courteous. To be unique, there is a genuine ballroom
dance club in the basement for dance lovers. These are about all positive things I can say.
Deplorably, WiFi was not available in each individual room. It was available only in the lobby. and there I had to struggle with mosquito raids constantly. I had to pay 150 baht per day for that. Hot and cold water was abundant, but could not be controlled effectively for shower.
The hotel is ideally located for people who love night clus and night markets.

A bit old-fashioned
The Montien rooms are good, but in dire need of a flat screen tv and more tv channels. The breakfast buffet is good. The pool is small & outdated. This is one of the oldest hotels in Bkk and it shows.
Nice hotel,good location & friendly staff. The doormen are a delight and nothing is too much
Pleasant stay in a good location
The accommodation at Montien surawong is quite comfortable concerning quality of
the room and location - good for shopping and nightlife.
The pool-area is a little bit simple; the breakfast buffet offers a lot for a lot of money.
