Ahhh the Narai....Dated luxury describes it best. First hotel I ever stayed at in Bangkok. Seems a little expensive these days but rooms are good, nice pool, great breakfast (I even came from another hotel one day and paid 250THB) and good lunch and dinner buffets at the 1st floor restaurant. The ground floor restaurant is good too - wicked pastas and pizzas. And like the Forth bridge in Scotland, they are constantly renovating - one floor at a time - top to bottom - then back up the other way! It wouldnt be the same without 'hammer knockings between 9am and 6pm' (see note to guest in room!) My Bangkok home...

Nice location. First night in a smoking-room was not nice. Breakfast ok. Next time I think I like to live on the top floor.

Service: Polite staffs but not too proficient in English. Rooms are well made and comfy. Restocks complimentary mineral water. Room: Okay for two person but same size as hotel that charges half the room rate. No complimentary coffee/tea nor kettle(probably can request from room service). As it doesnt need card to activate the power, we can make ice in the fridge. In-room safe available. Cable TV available, though only Discovery channel appeals to us. Toilet: Some problem with our flush as it take quite a while to finish flushing. The shower is nice and strong, with easy to adjust hot shower. Bath tub is average size. Small toilet though. Hairdryer available. Cleanliness: No complains. They did a good job. Meals: Complimentary buffet breakfast is very limited in variety as compared to other hotels in Bangkok/Thailand that I have stayed in, even though they charged a lower rate. Breakfast was average. Their buffet dinner at 430Baht per pax on the other hand has a huge variety of food. Location: 10-15mins walk to Chong Nonsi BTS. Not good idea to drag a trolley bag though as path is uneven. Within walking distance to Silom night life. Facilities: Nice pool and average gym facilities. Pool is popular with families (not very big so we gave it a miss) but no one uses the gym though (not sure why). Overall: Nice hotel to stay in given the cleanliness. But not good value for money, especially not for budget travellers. I don't regret trying out this hotel, but I won't stay here again as they lack the draw factor.

Hi, I was spoilt by staying at the Park Royal in Yangon where they served breakfast, by not trying to give me what I may have in Australia. That is give us Thai food, that's why most of us are in Thailand. LOVE THAI FOOD :) I must admit that the Maid for room 1044 while I was there was very good and I appreciated her concern when I left my wallet by accident in my room and after collecting my wallet I inadverntantly left my key in the room and as I requested your front counter to have the maid drop the key off at reception, which she did, confirmed my belief that in general Thai people are 'beautiful' pleople and deserve the right to be regarded as such. I will come back - this is my 3rd trip to Thailand - and as you are close to the rail that is a great advantage. Thank you. Kindest regards Kingsleigh Roberts

The front desk people could be more pleasant & smile. The chamber maid that attended to us was extremely friendly & helpful. The breakfast spread was good. It was a little far from the train station, especially after a lot of shopping! Room was a decent size & bathroom was clean.
