Despite being advised that the hotel renovations would be finished before I arrived, they were still in progress and very noisy. Apparently they will continue renovating until September. The staff, when advised that my room was just too damn noisy, were genuinely concerned and upgraded me to a less noisy room. The rooms are ok for a "five star" hotel but there are some glaring problems with sound proofing. In particular, you shouldn't be able to hear noisy people in the next room at 1.30am!!
Some of the health club facilities really do need an overhall particularly the pool jacuzzi which seemed to have run out of puff.
The food is good and the breakfast buffet is first class. The staff are courteous and helpful but the security presence a night is a little over the top and a bit disconcerting. The hotel seems to cater to the Japanese market as on all 4 occassions that I have stayed there, the guests seem to be 85% Japanese.
Overall, a reasonably priced hotel with a bit of work to improve. It is close to night markets and red light entertainment areas if thats your scene.
