I stayed there recently in Feb 2007. Eventhough it is abit pricey than any other hotel around the area, it is situated in a perfect location (for me anyway). We had our 1 year old travelled with us and we knew from the very beginning that we won't be able to get around the city much. So the MBK shopping was just perfect for me, got everything I needed/wanted to buy/eat and it is just the matter of going down to the 2nd floor from your hotel room to the shopping centre entrance. I'll definitely stay there again for my next trip to BKK(Only God will know when)
My party of 6, aged 19 to...
My party of 6, aged 19 to 69 enjoyed out stay at the Pathumwan Princess. It had excellent security rooms were always clean and spacious in superior.
Staff were friendly and attentive and went the extra mile for all our needs. getting a room at 07.30 was the only downside due to having to wait for 4 seperate rooms to become available which were then on 3 different floors ( My own was on the top floor and not as spacious as the others.
But this was always going to be awkward due to our flight times and I would recomend without hesitation both Asia Rooms for booking and The hotel itself.
We stayed at the Radisson on the last day in Bangkok and my fellow travellers are still going for compensation and apologies from them and they were 68 and 70 years old and had an awful time.
But I stray from the Review .... 4.5 out of 5 IMHO.

This a wonderful hotel. The staff and service were first class and the poolside restaurant served the best food we encountered at any hotel we stayed at in Thailand. The location is perfect for the Skytrain connection

We have stayed at this hotel many times before and I hope that I will be able to stay many times in the future. We were given room 2402 which I was very happy with. When we return I will try to reserve this room again.
The staff are more than happy to see you, and try to make your stay a pleasant one.

1. On arrival the receptionist was not very accomodating (she might be having a bad day). She was quite abrubt and we felt intimidated.
2. But apart from that one incidence most of the service was very good especially the young man who was outside helping to hail taxis for guests. He is a young man always with a smile,tall and good looking and very helpful.
3. It would be nice if there was a welcome basket of fruits and a welcome drink when we arrive like most hotels do considering the rates the hotel charge e.g Asia Hotel, Arnoma Hotel.
Much to our disappointment on arrival we were given 2 smoking rooms when we requested before we checked in that we specifically requested for non smoking rooms. That was when the receptionist who received us was not accomodating at all. Also I can tell from her body language she was talking about us to her other colleagues. Another complaint is that we had a fax message which was delivered to us one hour too late and it caused us a lot of inconvenience as we waisted our time waiting for the message and all the time it was sitting in the fax messaging room. When we confronted the concierge she contacted the person in that department and we were told it was delivered straightaway. I told your staff it was impossible as it was always one of us in the room as we were expecting it. It was pushed under the door and the person did not knock to find out whether there was anybody in.
Apart from these few incidences most of the staff was friendly and very helpful and very courteous and polite.
Great place to stay! Really good location...
Great place to stay! Really good location and its so nice to get in the lift and go to the room after a hard days shopping in MBK! No taxi or Tuk Tuk needed! Small complaint was that the staff at the "LOOP" bar by the pool were not that friendly but other than that all is good here!

The hotel is located in very convenience area, next to MBK, 10 walk to Siam Centre, discovery Centre and New Siam Paragorn! The hotel lobby have been renovated recently, very nice and stylish, good size of swimming pool and huge workout gym....HOWEVER, the hotel room is old and running down, especially the toilet inside the room, definitely need renovation! Also they still using the white light inside the toilet, unbelievable.
But still I will stay there next time when I visit bkk.

Staff were fantastic and helpful, and they could communicate well in english which is useful. The room we stayed in gave us a good view of the city and it was clean. However, hotel concierge could do with updating the city maps for tourists as we were given an old map which still has 'World Trade Centre' on. Highly recommended especially its location to MBK.

We stayed at the Princess for 4 nights. It is only a few minutes from the centre of bangkok and tourist sites with transport outside the door, a walk thru to a 7 story shopping complex that has everything you would want.The hotel is excellent and has everything.Will stay there again...
