We had a great stay in the Royal River Hotel in Bangkok everyone was very friendly and helpfull the rooms are very clean and nice and we think that you would not find any better hotel for that price.even the pool is lovely and clean. the city is not too far unless there is loads of trafic, we sugesst to have the address of the hotel  written down to show taxi drivers on the way to the hotel so that there is no missunderstanding.  the only reason we rated 9 out of 10 is because the tvs in the rooms didnt have english chanals. we would definatly come back!

This is the second time I've stayed at the Royal River. It was very good the first time, and even better this time. Very clean, and everyone very courtious. I would like to have had the shuttle boat run more often, but that would not keep me from returning. It is still my favorite place to say in Bangkok.

We were not very happy with the royal river hotel in Bangkok,it was a long way from town ,one night it took us over an hour to get back as the taxi driver got lost,we also had to move rooms at 2o/c in the morning do to having a mouse in our room which had been on our bed!!!!! Breakfast finihed at 10 o/c and if you got down at 9.45 they was nothing left. Not one of your best on your books

I enjoyed my stay in Royal River....
I enjoyed my stay in Royal River. The staff were very helpful. I think the fitness center needs some work. The management needs to replace some of the equipment--such as the treadmill, the step master, and also, maybe getting an elliptical trainer. The old equipment in fitness center takes away the prestige of the hotel. I'm sure these do not cost too much. Other than that, everything else was great. I hope they do consider my suggestions, because I would like to come back to Royal River in the near future, and bring more friends.

We had a wonderful time at the Royal River. We wished we had spent more of our vacation there. The staff were wonderful and the rate is very, very reasonable for the quality. We DID NOT find the location to be a problem. It was a short cab ride for only 100 Baht (about $2.50) downtown. This was well worth the money saved on the room and the quality of the hotel. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and would cerntainly come back if we are in Bangkok again.

The hotel is wonderful if you're planning...
The hotel is wonderful if you're planning on staying there and taking day trips using the travel agent in the lobby. The food is great and the service is also wonderful. Great amenities. Getting a metered cab is an ordeal. Walking 150 yards to the front of the hotel will either give you a metered taxi or one that wants to give you an inflated price. The later case means you have to walk another 200 yards to the main road. The express boat (public transportation) is about 150 feet down the river but two businesses seperate it from the hotel. That means it's a 1/3 of a mile walk to go up and around via roads to get to it. That being said the river express is still a dependable way to get to the hotel. However it stops running at 7:30. After that the taxi's have a hard time finding the hotel even with the little card you can get from the desk clerk. We wanted to stay at a nicer hotel on this trip and the Royal River accomplishes that. Next time we'll go back to another hotel we've stayed at in the past that is closer to everything.

Excellent hotel and highly recommended, especially in view of the rate. After starting our holiday at the Royal River we decided to end it there it was so good. Staff very friendly and helpful, 5 minutes walk to the river taxi to get to the sites. Our room overlooked the river and had a very large balcony (make sure you ask for a front room and not a side room). Rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Service was excellent - our toilet seat broke and was repaired immediately and we were not charged extra for a late checkout. Breakfast was excellent.

The view of the river is excellent. I spent many hours out the balcony watching all the boats. The hotel is a bit out of the way but it's not hard at all to get around. The seafood buffet outside at night is outstanding.

A little far from town, located on the Thonburi side, directly on the Chao Phraya river. Huge rooms with balconies, very reasonable prices, friendly employees, and a free boat service down the river compensate for the hotel's slightly far off location.
