Fantastic service, great views of the river and very close to the sky train. Pool was good and interiors were beautiful if exterior is looking it's age.

The Shangri-La is an almost perfect hotel, we stayed there before in novembre 2006. Since that time there is a restyling of the loung/lobby. We liked the od style better. A little problem a the arrivinig was tha our room was not yet ready, after almost two hours it was and half an hour later our luggage arrived. There were a lot of apologyzes.

I stayed this hotel with my wife.Really excellent hotel.Our room was riverview and at 17.floor and the view was great.I stayed many hotel at BKK but Shangri-la really perfect,particularly riverside snackbar unforgettable.

The thing that allows this hotel to stand out from the rest of the 5*s in the sanitised riverside part of Bangkok is its location. It is situated right next to the skytrain and also the boat that takes you across the river (to main sights).
We stayed in the Shangri La wing which is we found out once there was the older part of the hotel. The room was very big and bathroom adequate size for a 5* but this older wing showed in the slightly dated furniture.
Good thing is that the new wing is connected well and you can enjoy the amazing spa etc
Would definately recommend - take the new wing room if the pocket streches...

The situation is ideal, not far from Skytrain and boats pier.
The only issue is the pricing for foods* and beverages*, of course incremented by the 17,x % tax.
* eg: normal bier is 220 THB + Tax
* buffet: 1500 THB + Tax
