FANTASTIC - the Shangri-la Hotel, food and...
FANTASTIC - the Shangri-la Hotel, food and service are all excellent and the staff can't do enough for you - they helped make the stay what it was. We stayed at the Shangri La for 3 nights in March 2005 the original room that we moved into had a river view and was great but we had been offered an upgrade (which we didn't want to get involved in during check in because it was late and we just wanted to get to bed) which we took up the next day. The upgrade gave us an esecutive room (at the top of the hotel with a bigger bathroom, breakfast and access to the executive lounge). We were so glad that we took the upgrade (it really was worth taking - but you need to find out why for yourselves). The evening buffet has to be seen to be believed (we have both traveled extesively and have never seen the like for approx £20/per person (lobster, prawn, steak, oysters, lamb you name it it was there - unbelieveable. The hotel is right next to the sky-train taking you into the city and on top of the 'tourist boat' which goes to all the major locations that us tourists want to see and all within a 30 minute boat ride for 75bt. This is a hotel not to miss (do I get my commission now??) hope you all enjoy your visit as much as we did.

Wonderful! We were really enjoyed the memorial time at the Shangri La Hotel. It was located in beautiful tropical gardens on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, the Saphan Taksin Skytrain station is right next door. I feel comfortable and convenient while I was there. The Room with River View was very elegant and comfortable. The decoration was classy and fully furnished. There were soundproofed windows at the hotel, I didn’t hear any noise at night. High speed Internet was provided in each room and it was inexpensive. There was a newly Spa around the Krung Thep wing, very well worth to try. At night I highly recommend the Angelini Restaurant, which was very great and famous.
The price for this Luxury hotel will bargain if you booked prepaid. I didn’t hesitate to stay here anytime, love the hotel.

We have just returned home after our 2nd stay in the Shangri La with our 4 children. We all love everything about it! All staff were brilliant with the children, especially our son in a wheelchair. For a wheelchair, it's best to be in the main hotel.
