I take a suite at th Silom City Inn, the room and view was nice with a huge bed. The main problem still the location, I booked for 3 days and only stayed 1 night for that reason. Friendly, warm and beautifull staff.

I stayed in Silom City Inn in June 2004. Location in the map looks deceivingly near to the Patpong area. But the walk will take you more than 15 mins, some parts of which are very quiet at night. Depending on which side you walk in, you may also need to pass by the wet market. The rooms were also quite dirty. Some lights were not working, perhaps explaining the perceived low occupancy. I will not stay again in the hotel ever.

If you're familiar with the area, feel free to stay; mostly frequent by Indians.
1). It's 1 of the more upscale 'Car Park' hotel, as in people bring in other people for 'short-times' from red light district.
2). It is not in a good location, no good public transport nearby for tourist; unless u're familiar with the bus system, i only stick to MRT & BTS. It has none, nearby.
3). Taxi drivers have difficulties location the hotel, even looking at the address in thai text!
4). I don't consider staying in this hotel, ever.

Stayed 1 night Nov. 2004. Hotel was under renovations during my stay getting a badly needed facelift to the exterior, and diagrams posted next to the elevator show concept pictures of the guest room being improved too. The room was a little old showing its age.

Very good location to city centre. Warm and friendly staffs. Nice breakfast and lot's of choice on the menu for lunch and dinner. Rooms is good even though not very large. A very friendly and helpful hotel-taxi driver Mr.Sombat and will hassle all troubles to get me to the the embassy and immigration when I lost my passport.

I have stayed here 3 times and the last time it was a very unpleasant experience when I checked out. I was occused of chomping off a chunk of a chocolate bar and rewrapping it. I do not touch the mini-bar and I think the maids are taking the chance of sneaking a few items and hoping the guest would get blamed. The reception was very rude and dismissive of my denials. This spoiled what was otherwise an excellent stay and treatment. I have been recommending this hotel to many of my friends who also stayed there. I am now reconsidering using this hotel again.

The staff were fine but with improvements in a few areas it could be an even better hotel i.e the breakfast was variable, especially for the late risers like me, the red tablecloths need replacing, the in-room safe isn't electronic so you need to take the key with you, some of the room fixtures and fittings have seen better days. It is, however, in a colourful location near a food market, a mosque and Hindu temple, giving a great picture of Bangkok life as lived by the locals.

A good hotel, close to patpong, cleaning service was great, not very expensive, with everything you would expect in a western hotel.
