Good stay for the money
We had a need of a good hotel for two nights in Bangkok to finish up our Thailand trip for this time. We traveled 5 of us, one 2 year old, and looked for two rooms for a good price in a OK area and quite hotel. We found Silom City Hotel and based on what we read on internet and the price we booked it for two nights, of course not feeling totally sure since the price was to our mind really good for being a hotel. Though we were not disappointed! :-)
The staff was really nice and helpful, trying to get our short stay as good as possible. We had booked one standard room and one deluxe, but since all standard were busy we got an upgrade on the standard room to deluxe. These rooms are quite big, without problem fitting one baby cot and all the luggage that we had. The rooms are not new by any way, the A/C could make less noise but all equipment worked, the water in the shower was warm and for the price very good. It also fulfilled one of our most important requirements, silence! We did not have any problems in sleeping, and anyway the hotel resides in a center location not far away from the sights in Bangkok.
The first floor, reception and restaurant area was renovated and looked very nice, we stayed at the 4:th floor, and I can not tell if any of the other floors are renovated, the 2nd floor looked like renovated but don't know anything of how the rooms look like.
The breakfast was included in the price and fully OK, even the 2 year old could find at least something to eat for breakfast :)
We can recommend this hotel if you are looking for something a little cheaper and do not have demands to have the latest design and renovated rooms.
