Highly recommend this hotel for a stopover...
Highly recommend this hotel for a stopover if you need one in BKK. Taxi from airport takes 15-20 minutes and easily arranged either at one of the desks outside arrivals but much cheaper in the queue outside the terminal. Hotel used to people arriving at odd hours and check-in made very easy. Rooms good and much better than other airports I have used near the airport.

room was a bit smelly but apart...
room was a bit smelly but apart from that, the location was excellent with a huge shopping mall next door and its very close to the airport. ps if you pay more than 100bahts for the taxi to/from the airport then your being ripped off, so dont pay anymore that that!

The Sofitel Central Plaza is a reasonable...
The Sofitel Central Plaza is a reasonable hotel for the price. Needs some updating, but the Spa was excellent.

I just finished writing home about my wonderful stay at the Sofitel Central Hotel.  I was very pleased with ALL the amenities.  My stay at the hotel made the best of my trip to Bangkok.  Thanks Sofitel.

Really great hotel. The buffet that they offer is excellent. The rooms may be a little bit old, but they look very nice and the beds are very comfortable. All of the staff was extrememely friendly and helpful with anything that I needed. The Sofitel Central Plaza is a great place to stay for 1 night.

Stayed at the Sofitel Central Plaza hotel...
Stayed at the Sofitel Central Plaza hotel for a night in May. Booked a Deluxe Room and up-graded to the Dynasty Floor (with additional of US $15). Nice location near the airport and shopping mall. Room needs renovation. Food at coffee shop was mostly good, service was OK. Will stay there again but perhaps not in the deluxe room/ Dynasty Floor.

STAYED 3 NIGHTS APRIL 2005.  APPROX 3/4 OF AN  HOUR FROM AIRPORT,  NICE HOTEL FOR THE MONEY.  VERY GOOD BREAKFAST,  PLENTY TO CHOOSE FROM . GOOD POOL AND GARDEN AREA !  WOULD STAY AGAIN IN THE SOFITEL CENTRAL PLAZA HOTEL.
