The hotels location is great for the sky train and the porters will be only to happy to get you a metered cab. The rooms are silghty small but have great views. Paying the the extra baht for the club rooms is definitely worth it for the view and the free drinks and snacks from 5-7pm in the club lounge is really nice and it also gives you a late checkout.
The pool and gym are also small but adequate for a business hotel
The service is above all really the best I have encountered and the staff too kind to be true.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! Best hotel I have ever stayed in. First class in all departments. We stayed in a Club room and had a private check in. The breakfast selection was superb and very tasty. The S188 bar was relaxing and good for people watchung. The V9 bar/resteraunt was first class. Top floor with a magnificent view over Bangkok and the Chao Phraya river. Had the best T-Bone steak I have ever tasted. Decor was low light but modern style. Excellent servbice and very relaxing. All in all, a magnificent hotel and staff. Always polite and smiling and extremely helpful. If you want a stay in Bangkok, go to the Sofitel Silom, you won't be disappointed. Many thanks for a fabulous stay.
Fantastic 5 star service in the centre...
Fantastic 5 star service in the centre of Bangkok for less than 3 star in the UK. The Sofitel is a beautifully run hotel that provides a safe haven from the madness of Bangkok. The service and facilities are as you would expect but at a much lower cost than many of the other big hotels in the city.
Opt for the executive suite, it only costs a fraction more but guarantees great views across the city plus other little perks as well.

The hotel is excellent in terms of services, room, cleanliness. The furniture and flooring is in very new condition. The staff is courteous and services are prompt. Great breakfast too. The location is more ideal for business, not so much for shopping. However the BTS is less than 10 mins walk and only 3 stops away from the main shopping area.

Staying at the Sofitel was a very pleasant experience (jun 06). The hotel staff is VERY courteous and service is very good. Our room was very elegantly furnished and the bathroom was excellent. The hotel staff had made evey effort to ensure all our needs within the room & beyond would be taken care of.
The only drawback was that the location was not very good, but was still central and the Pool was small.
Overall i would recommend all to stay at the Sofitel due t Good value for Money.
