This hotel has very old rooms for...
This hotel has very old rooms for the lowest class. The management wanted to make me pay another 1200 THB per night to upgrade to a better room. The basic room was really poor with 20 year old furnishing. Breakfast buffet was ok and the sky restaurant on the roof and the pool area are actually pretty coo. I guess for families could be good but I strongly recommend to get a higher class room, else you live in a hole!

we had only half day (1 night)...
we had only half day (1 night) in Bangkok thus we chose this hotel as it was cheap and close to Patpong night market where we did our last minute shopping before leaving Thailand. the hotel was very standard, only sutiable for budget travellers. our room had a door where we could open and access to the next room, very scary when ou can hear everything from next room. theres no way we'd stay here again.

* Excellent size and layout of room * Recent refurb. Very clean and modern. * Perfect location close to Skytrain Station * Skygarden Restaurant (and pool) highly recommended. * Strong mastery of English by staff. * Reasonable facilities in the room, tho we could have used an iron and ironing board....an essential when living out of suitcases.

Great location for shopping and transport. Staff...
Great location for shopping and transport. Staff were always happy and helpful. My wife and 3 children stayed a total of 7 nights here in the 2 weeks travel around Thailand. Our return each time was a different level of room type and all were great. We requested connecting rooms and on our last visit couldnt get conneting room so they upgraded us to the top level accomodation floor. Several rooms were being revamped so the next holiday makers will get an even better experience.Breakfast was always fresh and quite a diversity. We will be sure to stay at the Unico again on our next visit to Silom. Brian Kenny

We were taken to an 'old' room...
We were taken to an 'old' room and it smells. We had to ask for a change of room and was given a room on a higher floor which had been refurbished. We had to wait an hour for the change of room. Room was ok but the bathroom needs renovation. It is 15 mins walk to the nearest BTS station and not five mins as indicated on their website.

Good value. Area is not too interesting,...
