Second time at Zenith Sukhumvit (July 2005...
Second time at Zenith Sukhumvit (July 2005 & 2006) and it felt good to get back: some of the staff remembered us and we felt very welcome. The rooms are showing their age, but we heard they would be refurbished during 2006/07. We felt this hotel is still good value and well located in the Sukhumvit area, and the staff are very nice.

A modern hotel in a busy area...
A modern hotel in a busy area close to a Skytrain station. Our room was a good size, plenty of choice at breakfast and the food in the restaurant was good. However, the sound-proofing in the rooms is very poor - we were woken in the middle of the night by people in the neighbouring room not being rowdy, just chatting. We also had problems when we tried to stay an additional night - there was a reluctance to let us stay on. There was comment about the rate we were paying through AsiaRooms and were then told that the hotel was full and that they needed our room back. We were dubious about this claim so spoke to a different member of staff. We not only got to stay the extra night but remained in the same room, albeit at a higher rate than we'd paid through AsiaRooms. I had intended on my return to Bangkok to stay at the Zenith again but decided against it after this "mix up".

My family and I stay in the...
My family and I stay in the Zenith Hotel every year. It is fantastic and the staff is excellent - always there to help. The swimming pool on the top of the hotel offers a fantastic view of Bangkok.

Great hotel but the service was almost...
Great hotel but the service was almost bad. Welcome drink is fruit punch, most hotels give you your choice. The service personel seem more intent on finding who is bringing food or visitors in then showing you hospitality. Their restaurant at night is very empty, even though they have a nice live band and a beautiful restaurant. If they offered a free welcome drink they would get many more customers willing to try their restaurant.

Our stay at the Zenith was pretty...
Our stay at the Zenith was pretty good overall. I am sure there were better hotels for cheaper but it was clean with a great breakfast and served all of our needs. The sky pool was a bonus as well - great views from up top and a leisurely dip after sightseeing was really refreshing. The hotel is really close to the skytrain, which was great as taking a taxi in Bangkok traffic would have been terrible. I will agree with others who said that the hotel does cater to guests from the middle east... a different, more subdued vibe. I recommend the Zenith for someone needing a mid-range price, standard hotel.

The hotel location was very good as...
The hotel location was very good as I was having surgery in Bumrungrad, which was within walking distance. Overall the Hotel is good value, quite a good selection for breakfast. Housekeeping could do with a brush up. Sometimes I had a bath mat, other days none, same with hand towels, but these were only small matters. Staff were very friendly & helpful when I wanted to know things. I would probably stay there again especially if having surgery again.

I thouroghly enjoyed my stay, when I had one problem staff quickly and efficiently rectified the problem. Staff are friendly and helpful. Thank you for a most enjoyable experience in Bangkok.

1) Smelly hallway at level 17, which is Hemingway level, paid at a higher price. 2) Do not replenish towels 3) Ants in room 4) Hotel practises reusing of disposable slippers which is unhygienic. 5) Did not replenish drinking water in room.
