I would say that overall the Rama...
I would say that overall the Rama Gardens hotel is good (comfort and service) except that it is a bit far away from central of Bangkok.  Prepare to take cab frequently. There is not enough signage and lights for taxi drivers coming from town to know when to make a U-turn to go to hotel. There were instances where we encounterd drivers missing the turn and had to drive a long distance away in order to come back to the turn again.

My first stay in the Rama Gardens...
My first stay in the Rama Gardens and I shall certainly return, very spacious rooms equiped to a  high standard. Very convienient for the airport, just 20 minutes away. Reception staff very efficient and speak very good english. Room service very quick indeed. Only downside is that the lobby bell service is a little erratic, sometimes excellent; sometimes seems a little confused. Over all I must agree with previous reviews, definately worthy of another star. I doubt you will dissapointed with this hotel.

We did not like our stay in...
We did not like our stay in Rama Gardens Hotel. The room was  in the old part of the hotel which is very different from the new lobby. They have been unable to book a car to join the airport; unable to find a telephone number. So for us, The Rama is not a place to stay.

I  stayed in Rama Gardens in Bangkok...
I  stayed in Rama Gardens in Bangkok only the one night as I arrived at midnight and did not feel moving stright to the Shrangri La was sensible for obvious reasons. I payed 36.00 GBP for a deluxe room which was large and spacious and worth every penny. Plus points include a good restaurant, nice gardens, nice pool and even a dedicated Karaoke room! Minus points are poor noise insulation and a location which is just too far from the centre of Bangkok for my liking. If I were stopping over in Bangkok again (which I did not like), then I would not stay anywhere else, nuff said!

My husband and I stayed at Rama...
My husband and I stayed at Rama Gardens for one night on Sept 24.  We arrived in Bangkok at around 10pm and flew out the next day for Krabi.  This is certainly a nice hotel that is worth staying at for more than just one night as a stopover.  It has many recreational facilities to offer.  It also offers shuttle service to a few shopping locations downtown.  The room is not modern but very clean and comfortable.  Most importantly, it uses duvet instead of a plain blanket between two bedsheets.  The breakfast buffet has good selection.  Both checkin and checkout were efficient.  The only one negative comment that I would have to make, has to do with the airport pickup.  Before leaving for Bangkok I called the hotel directly and requested airport pickup.  I was given the instructions on the spot to meet for the pickup.  However, when we arrived at the airport at the place the hotel staff described, there were no representatives from Rama Gardens.  We had to take the taxi to the hotel and that cost 200 THB.  When we tried to find out what happened to the pickup, the hotel staff were very apologetic and showed us that our names were on the list of pickup.  Exactly why our pickup did not come through is still a mystery.  However, the hotel staff advised that in the future I should call the hotel while at the airport.  This airport transfer service is also provided to hotel guests free of charge.  However, you will notice that it is not advertised in its hotel website.

All the staff I met were friendly...
All the staff I met were friendly and eager to help.My room was old but well-kept.However,i don't think it's value for money.I would suggest to stay here for easy access to the airport, not for the garden or the so-called resort ambiance. You will see many locals and flight cabin crew here. Also, breakfast was a letdown.
