Background: 3 of my girl friends and I stayed in 2 connecting rooms over a 5D4N period.
Service: Excellent. Everyone speaks English well and is ready with a smile.
Facilities: No chance to visit the pool but we were happy with the free safety box service in the Business Center in which we can deposit our passports and go out with a peace of mind.
Room: Large enough with comfortable bed and pillows. No foul smells from carpet or beddings. Just a tad dusty. Aircon is not too noisy.
Bathroom: Very basic. We didn’t like the low pressure from the taps and showerheads. Some rust and broken tiles here and there. But water heats up fast enough and doesn’t stop erratically midway as tends to happen in 2-3 star hotels.
Location: We love 5 things 1) walking distance to Pratunam Market, Big C and WTC, 2) nearby massage joints that open till 2am (we had a 2-hour Thai massage every night!), 3) 7-Eleven is close by to buy big bottles of mineral water home at night without the trouble of lugging them for long distances, 4) tailor shop opposite D’ma Pavilion which is good if you have enough days to wait for them to perfect your clothes after several rounds of fitting (beware: service is lousy but at least they understand English well), and 5) taxi drivers and tuk tuks are aware of the hotel so you won’t waste your time (and baht) driving around in traffic jams looking for an unknown place.
However, it’s not near subway if that’s what you need. But since there are 4 of us, we take a cab or tuk tuk everywhere. Beware of the tuk tuks who are parked outside the hotel though. One tried to charge us 500baht to go to Chinatown and when we managed to hail one off the streets, we managed to bargain to 60baht.
Overall – I will be back! =)
