From the website, this hotel looked so special, but in reality, the room had a bad odour even though I was staying on the non-smoking floor. The breakfast was pretty bad compare to Marriot, so I skipped the breakfast most of the time, and eat out in some local eatery. There are much nicer hotel in Bangkok for that price.
We had requested for a room with the private spa and sauna room as my wife and I enjoyed our previous stay with the same room type before. We made the booking 2 weeks prior to our stay and our booking was accepted by the hotel. On our arrival we were told that the corner wing of the hotel was closed, the corner wing is the only part of the hotel that has the private spa and sauna rooms. The hotel did give us a upgrade which gives you a second bedroom and a extra toilet, not exactly the same as a spa and a sauna.
My wife and I were very dissappointed that our booking was accepted by the hotel knowing that the room was not going to be available. When I called Asiarooms help line they were also very dissappointed to here that booking was approved by the hotel and they did contact the hotel and expressed there views. The hotel itself is still very good but for next trip to Bangkok I will be staying else where and I would recommend if you are thinking about booking a room at the Davis, avoid booking anything in the corner wing.
The Davis is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the sky train and the shopping in close vicinity. There are a number of lovely pools to use and the restaurants have good food if you dont feel like going further afield.
Rooms are nice and big , bathroom as well, but there is no Coffee at the room no tea.
Breakfast is very poor for this class of hotel. selection of food is poor and the quality of some products like Bread, Cheese is really bad and cheap.
Staff is friendly and polite.
I think and a hotel in this range of price should offer much better breakfast and food selection.
Good value with the Asia Rooms price. The rooms are nice and new.
A bit too far from the next Sky Train station. Walking to there is quite dangrouse since several constructions on the way are blocking the walk way and you have to walk on the road along with fast passing traffic.
Ths is our second time at the Davis. Once again we stayed in the Executive Suite which was simply fabulous. We are a family of 5 and the suite + an extra bed was the best deal for us. The bedrooms were great and the bathrooms (both of them) were huge and incredible. We did not get to use the kitchen and dining room but overall it's probably one of the best deals in the city. Breakfast was very good and we even enjoyed the buffet dinner one night at half price (after 21:30). Indeed the Davis is quite a walk away from the Skytrain and the street is still unpleasant to walk on as construction is being held on both sides but the hotel as a Tuk Tuk shuttle every 30 minutes or so to the Skytrain - solves the problem. We strongly recommend the Davis and will definitely return.
