The Royal Hotel is the nearest hotel the Royal Grand Palace which is convenient. It is great hotel for tourist. There are many attraction and museum around the hotel Staff there were wonderful and helpful to us that made us feel a warm welcome. The complimentary breakfast was beyond plentiful that kept appetite full for the rest of the day! Breakfast buffet was better than most offered at inexpensive hotels. Above all, a very budget hotel with outstanding quality of service to stay in the city of Bangkok, we can’t wait to stay there.The rooms were a bit shabby, but acceptable. The location is out of the way, unless you want to be close to Khao San Road or possibly Chinatown. (It's far from the nearest Sky train station.) ! Luckily subway in Bangkok is operated next month. It will more inconvenient to stay there.

I was stay in this hotel on November 2002, the location is the best, you can go to the most interesting places by walking because the hotel is near to Grand Palace. Breakfast are excellent, the staff was not very friendly, and the rooms (standard) you can get by internet, are not the ones you can see in the website, these are more simples but are also well, and clean. Nex time I will go to same hotel.

I love this hotel!great location,great breakfast,great value!We can see the Grand Palace through our window.It is a little bit run down,but it is over 60 years old!I love the old furniture and the 60-year-old elevator.I will be back.

a great location -very central- close to grand palace, Kho Sang Road, park, art gallery, national museum, etc all within 5 or so mins walk - enabling you to get there before the crowds. Rooms are clean, spacious and quiet. Would definitely recommend to someone visting Bangkok for a short time.

The Royal is a great hotel. I stayed there in '97 and it was close to everyhting, the staff was helpful. However, the place is in need of some renovation in some of the rooms. I love the lobby area. Overall I thought it was a good value for the money and a nice place to stay. If i ever find myself in Bangkok again, I will most certainly look-up the Royal Hotel.

Great location and very nice breakfast buffet - unfortunately the "Priviledged Rate"-advertised standard rooms on the 3rd and 4th floor are in dire need of renovation. This spoilt it!
