It is and feel like a hotel,...
It is and feel like a hotel, with a reception and a large lobby. It is rather cheap, even affordable by backpackers. It has a pool, clean rooms with some character and decent bathrooms.
It is walking distance from Kao Sarn Road, giving access to the huge array of shopping, restaurants, internet cafes etc. It is walking distance from the boat pier, the most refreshing way to travel in Bangkok, it is walking distance from the Royal Palace.
It is NOT anywhere near the new part of town, so a trip to Patpong or to the mega department stores is a 30 min taxi ride. It is not anywhere near the Skytrain, either.
Service is not great, staff at reception were quite unfriendly. Breakfast is served in a gloomy room, by young inexperienced staff.
Internet, taxis booked within the hotel and the coffee shop are quite expensive.
All in all it's good value, and I keep going there.
