A brilliant budget hotel, really convienent for The Koh San Road (sp?), great breakfast, clean rooms and daily housekeeping, if you are going to Bangkok on a budget this is the place to stay. We pad £108.00 for 4 people for 3 nights. Perfect

This was the second time that I...
This was the second time that I have stayed at the "Royal Hotel" in Bangkok, and I was just as pleased as the first. The room was £18 a night, and was clean, comfortable and in a prime location for travelers! Its only a 5 minute walk (over a couple of busy roads) to the famous "Koh San Road", 20 minute walk to the "Grand Palace" and a 30 minute walk to Wat Po, the reclining Buddha........perfect!

Drop off parking for checking in very...
Drop off parking for checking in very difficult and entry stairs for baggage not easy. Ideally located for Emerald Buddha, Grand Palace and river ferry stop. We could not find any convenient good eating places in immediate vicinity, but hotel restaurant was good. Lots of vendor stalls at river ferry station and outside hotel. Bathroom did not have a shower curtain and water splashed onto toilet seat and floor during shower.

We have used this hotel frequently. Generally good value, but the breakfasts are of poor standard. We eat away from the hotel. The hotel taxi service is a complete rip. They charge around double the fair rate. 800 baht to the airport (the airport bus a few minutes away is 150 baht). A meter taxi (including toll road charges) will cost around 300-400 baht. NEVER use the hotel taxi service. We had to jump out of an exhausted old car (with zero oil pressure) on the way to the airport the other day, and flag down a decent one. No refund provided on our return to the hotel.

The hotel was old and has ant...
The hotel was old and has ant everywhere, bathroom, table and bed. My mom was bitten by them when sleeping. Decoration is old. Location is okay, walking distance to Kaosan road, but the traffic is a little annoying cos many roads intersect together in front of the hotel.

I and my wife stayed in Royal...
I and my wife stayed in Royal Hotel 3 nights before we got back to home to Finland. Hotel location was perfect to us. Khaosan road is just other side of street and Grand Palace is near. The river is near if you like to go to rivercruise. But don't use the taxi-service at all, because it is very expensive. Almost two times more than free taxi on the street. We go to Suvarnabhumi airport at nighttime 5:00 AM and there was many free taxis driving at street. Taxi costs ~500THB but hotel taxiservice costs 800THB.

Good hotel within walking distance to all...
Good hotel within walking distance to all shops, bars and restaurants, also within walking distance to the Palace. Good size rooms, friendly staff and good breakfast. Would definitely stay at the Royal again.
