The Royal is old fashioned but reasonably...
The Royal is old fashioned but reasonably clean. The only advice I would offer is don't use the taxi drivers in the foyer, they are very expensive.

Very good for budget travelers & students....
Very good for budget travelers & students. Good for sightseeing, short visits. Very close to historical center. Reasonable ratio cost/quality. Clean enough, breakfast is OK, room size is normal. Not enough level in case of business trips.

Very good value for money. Excellent location...
Very good value for money. Excellent location near Grand Palace, museums, river and Khao San Rd. Good for tourists wanting to explore the centre of Bangkok on foot. Renovated rooms are fine, quite comfortable, bathroom OK. Good breakfast buffet. Drinking water provided in rooms. Quite nice pool and sunbathing area which is a bonus. Have stayed here 3 times. The rooms vary but all have been perfectly adequate and good value. Staff also quite helpful.

I dont like the way how they...
I dont like the way how they treat us when we arrived. No smile, no friendly and only so questions. I can find best vakue and more friendly place in bangkok for the same value. The breakfast offer many choice, but all in poor quality food and without taste. Better to do less but really better !

Close to the Koh San Road. Clean hotel, staff helpful. Glad booked on internat as tried to book another night whilst there and was very expensive!!

This was my first stay in Bkk...
This was my first stay in Bkk at a low cost Hotel. Shortly summed up, this Hotel is good value for money! Perfect location for whatever you want to do in Bkk and clean rooms, a little small, but quit all right. No noise from closely located rooms when I stayed there in the low season. On the contrary very quit. The bathtub in the bathroom is a little difficult to use due to lack of warm water, but the shower was indeed very good. Safety boxes free for use in the reception. But be aware of that the Hotel charge deposit for keys, both for your room THB 1 000 and safety box THB 200. Satisfied customer.

A good budget hotel in a handy location - near to Khao San Rd, Grand Palace & the river. A little bit overpriced but the location makes up for it.

I first stayed at this hotel four...
I first stayed at this hotel four years ago and have been back many times since. It is in a great location for sightseeing and close to Khao San Road which has many bars and places too eat. The rooms are good and the staff are friendly. I would recommend this hotel too anyone needing a budget hotel in Bangkok.

Old but enchanting. Near to Sanam Luang...
Old but enchanting. Near to Sanam Luang and the various Wats (for day trips) as well as Khao San Road (for some night partying). Not near any subway stations but a taxi ride to Siam Square costs only 55Baht or you can choose to take a bus (No. 15) from across the hotel. It is also a short bus ride (No. 53) from Chinatown for some shopping.
