A very good value for money hotel...
A very good value for money hotel in a good location which I have stayed at many times but I will NOT be staying there again as they charged me extra for a guest to visit my room in the afternoon. This is totally unacceptable, I have paid for the room and I cannot even have a friend visit me.

The hotel is nice and not bad...
The hotel is nice and not bad for the price. They need to get another sattelite programing. I go to Bangkok on business and I like to relax in the room at night. The T.V. programing is terrible for Expats. I asked for a queen size bed with my reservation and I was given 2 single beds. You should at least be able to get a double bed for the same price as 2 single beds. The food is good and it caters to different cultures. Thai Pan makes alot of money on travelers, I wish they would look at a better entertainment in the television department and do away with single beds, then this hotel would be the best in Bangkok.

The staff at the Tai Pan gave...
The staff at the Tai Pan gave 110% in service and friendliness during both of my stays. During my second stay at the Tai Pan, I elected to switch to the more economical superior room, rather than the deluxe, and I couldn't find any difference other than pricing. I couldn't be sure that the staff didn't upgrade the room because I was a returning customer, but I only paid for the lesser superior room which was right next to my room from my previous stay. There could be a better sign on Soi 23 because the hotel is tucked inside a separate drive, and my first taxi driver almost missed it the first time. After that, I would give the taxi driver advance notice that we were coming up to it, and when to turn. I will be returning back to Bangkok again next summer, and I fully intend to stay at the Tai Pan Hotel again, and re-visit some of the friends that I made there this last time.

I gave a wrong review earlier about...
I gave a wrong review earlier about Thai Pan. That was supposed to be for another hotel in Crabi. But here goes. Thai Pan's best asset is it's location. Close to MTR and a few good shopping centers, street vendors and within drunk walking distance from Soy cowboy. Like another reviewer, I had the food poisoning when I stayed there, the worst I've ever had. Again, hard to narrow it down to Tai Pan hotel. But it's likely. And I was given a room with two single beds the first time and three single beds the second time around and I was travelling alone. It didn't bother me, but something to consider. The staff were great though.

I was very happy with TaiPan for...
I was very happy with TaiPan for my 5 night stay in 2 stints inbetween football matches in July. A quiet location (tho suggest ask to be away from the construction work nearby if its still on) Within 5-10mins Walk of BTS, Soi Cowboy and some really nice thai restaurants. Actually the area is one of the best all round in Bangkok for cleanliness, whilst still being interesting in terms of diverse credible nightlife. My big dissappointment was the hotels insistence to give me a room with 2 single beds even though i was travelling alone. This lack of flexibility is the sort of thing that would keep me from coming back. Also I suffered from some sort of food poisoning which dissappeared when i stopped eating the breakfast there. Maybe thats just me though as my friend (also staying in his own single room) had no problems. The staff were some of the friendliest and helpful on my 6 week stay in Thailand, and the pool/gym were great for a 3 star hotel. Another point to note for single travellers was the 600 baht fee for an extra guet in room. (my fried found this out the hard way) Plenty of other hotels dont charge, and some also in same area.

A really beautiful hotel, set in the middle of what looks like a tropical rain forest, with crickets and butterflies. I stayed at one of the bigger rooms and it was perfect. The staff were super friendly and helpfull too. But at night there is no reception staff. Over all a really beautiful place and will stay there again.

I stayed this hotel with THB2,000/night incl. BF & Tax on Aug. 2007. The hotel is old but tidy. Room is big enough and staff was kind. Totaly, I prefer to stay this hotel with this rate. Location of Asoke is very easy to move around Bangkok. Construction next door seems almost finished and it didn't bother me at all. Somebody who wants to stay in the hotel during day time may not like this hotel. An old Thai house and famous Soi Cowboy are near the hotel. Old Thai house will last longer but not Soi Cowboy. To see and think about social matters could be interesting for person like me.

The position was very good - just far enough away from Sukhumvit to be quiet but close enough for an easy walk to both MRT & Skytrain stations. I liked the wi-fi internet connection in my room. We stayed for 7 breakfasts and each day's offering was exactly the same - some occasional variety would have been good. Breakfast was good though. Definitely use it again.

My boyfriend and I booked a room...
My boyfriend and I booked a room for two people and when we arrived we were given a room with two single beds. This was our last hotel booking on our trip and we were only disappointed with this hotel. All the other hotels we had booked the same way and for some reason this hotel gave us two single beds. The beds were also the most uncomfortable beds we had ever slept on. They were boards with a lot of springs in them. What this hotel offered didn't seem to match the price they were asking.
